OUR REWARDS IN HEAVEN PART 7
THE ETERNAL DESTINY OF THE FAITHFUL
The ultimate reward for the truly faithful Christ followers is the eternal destiny as kings and priests, or “priestly kings”, in Christ’s future earthly kingdom
The common model of governance in the pre-mosaic period was a ruler who was “king” over his city and surrounding villages. This king also served as the “priest” over the people representing their god, often a pagan god.
Almighty God envisioned his people as becoming a future nation of such godly rulers, each with a domain assigned to them to rule and reign on God’s behalf under the kingship of Jesus, the King of Kings. In Exodus 19:5 God says, “ye shall be to me a kingdom of priests, a holy nation.” Verse 4 sets forth the condition, “if ye will obey my voice,” for fulfillment.
The Book of Revelation was written by the apostle John while in prison. He was “in the Spirit on the Lord’s day” (Rev 1:10) when Jesus appeared to him and showed him many mysteries, including those of the far distant future. It is a revelation of our future and our destiny.
Revelation 1:5-6 says, “…Jesus Christ who is…the prince of (over) the kings of the earth…and hath made us kings and priests unto God and His Father.”
Revelation 5:9-10 also said of Jesus, “for Thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by Thy blood…and hast made us unto our God kings and priests, and we shall reign on earth.” Yes, we shall reign under Him in the earth, a new earth.
In Revelation 21:1 John writes, “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away, and there was no more sea.” John then saw the New Jerusalem descending from God out of heaven to the New earth prepared as for the bride of Christ.
This is the reward of the truly faithful bride of Christ. Whatever territory (domain) He assigns to His faithful ones, they (we) shall rule that domain as priestly kings (queens) on behalf of God and His Christ.
No, we do not remain in heaven. We rule on earth with Him. Those that remain in heaven were not judged at being the most faithful of the church (the bride of Christ). Perhaps their works were the “hay, wood, and stubble?” They are saved but not given dominion with Christ on earth.
I am for the greater eternal destiny: co-ruler with Christ in His coming kingdom. I see that as the greatest of rewards.

WHO ARE YOU LISTENING TO?
I was saved at a very young age but had no real biblical teaching. The Church I went to would have a short sermon, but there was little taught to bring change to my life. Through a series of events in my life, I rededicated my life to the Lord, and a hunger for the Word of God became part of my everyday life. I started reading the word and attended some Bible studies.
Many times, I would be in church, and a message would be preached, and something did not sit exactly right in my spirit. I would go home and look it up in my Bible. Oftentimes what was preached did not line up with what the bible said. You see, my friends, the Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth. I became involved in other Bible studies as I grew, and I asked a lot of questions. I am sure the teacher at times got tired of the questions, but I truly wanted to know the truth. I did not want to take someone else’s word for truth. I wanted it to be shown to me in the bible, because I knew that if it wasn’t in the bible then it wasn’t a message from God.
There are many prophetic voices out there today. They are saying all kinds of things. Some say that everything is going to be great in 2021, just like they said in 2020, while others are saying the opposite. How can we know who is speaking the truth? You go to the manual my friends, which is the bible. You dig into it and see if it says what the people are speaking.
Israel is a major key to know prophecy. We know when it became a nation again that it signified the return of Jesus. It had to happen before his return. People taught about the imminent return of Christ for centuries while Israel was still scattered. Once it became a nation, then prophetic words pointing to the return of Christ would come to pass. Another point is that Jesus said the gospel would be preached in all nations before his return. Well, with the internet and all the media, the gospel has gone into the nations.
I think so often that people are looking to prophetic words from individuals to guide their lives. I have seen so many people’s lives destroyed by a “wrong” prophetic word. One friend had a son who had a prophecy over him that he would marry a blue eyed blonde. He married a dark haired brown eyed girl that was a beautiful Christian. His mother insisted that he had missed it in not marrying a blue eyed blond and that he should divorce his dark haired brown eyed wife and find the blue eyed blonde. That was ridiculous. It seems that the Church has been seduced by a spirit of fortune telling instead of a true prophetic spirit.
I believe in prophecy. I walk in that gift, but you can’t just give a word any time you feel like it.
Many Christians go to prophets to get answers instead of going to God. It is no wonder that the Church is in so much confusion. You can never go wrong going to God! He will guide you by the Holy Spirit and show you the plan. It is not a quick fix plan. You will be tested and tried to prove you trust His plan. Remember, if a word given or preached doesn’t sit well in your spirit, it probably isn’t a word from God. Test the Word! Be careful who you listen to.

Standing your ground for Christ will come with a price. This year many will falter. Jesus prayed for Peter that he would not fail. Even with that prayer he still failed but was restored. Don’t let failures determine your walk. Get up, repent and go forward. Peter denied Christ three times yet Jesus restored him. That is mercy and grace!
Be likeminded. Don’t be a Pharisee when others falter either. Be the one to lift them up and restore them. That is love my friends!

Prophesying To The House?
I don't know how or where the practice of prophesying to everyone in the house began, or why we continue so often to perpetuate it! It opens the door to so much error, and so much prophesying out of one's soul as opposed by the Spirit.
It seems we expect every Prophet or Ministry Gift that flows prophetically to give everyone a "Word". Was this really New Testament Practice? Is there anything in Scripture that would indicate that this was a common occurrence?
I Think Not!
It is one of the things that we have created in error in our false expectations and current acceptance of the "Prophetic". I am in no way belittling "Personal Prophecy" by any means. What I am against is that we have conditioned "Believers" to be dependent on "Prophets" as opposed to teaching them how to hear God for themselves, and how to be led by Holy Spirit.
I functioned as a Prophet for 16 years as my Primary ministry assignment and Ascension Function, and my goal was never to give everyone a "Word".
We forget that Prophecy like all of the other manifestations of the Spirit operates as the Spirit of God wills, and requires either the Inspiration of the Spirit, the Revelation of the Spirit, or Both!
Romans 12 tells us that we prophesy according to the proportion of our faith. So many in our day are attempting to prophesy to everyone beyond their development in the gift because it is expected or they think they have to. When they do they prophesy what their soul thinks or wants, not what the Spirit is inspiring.
There are many times that I go into a house and don't give everyone a "Word". This past Sunday in fact, I only gave two "Words" to a group of about 30 people. Why? Because if the Spirit is not inspiring me I AM NOT GOING TO MAKE SOMETHING UP!
I wish some of the immature ones among our ranks would learn and understand this. We have done much damage to Ecclesia by our unreal expectations. Many have been hurt by receiving "Words" that were given in the name of God, but were not Inspired by God!
Folks, WE MUST DO BETTER!
If the Spirit is not Inspiring one to speak..."Let Them Keep Silent". Or as my Italian/American friends would say: "Shut-up-a-you-face!"
