Principal's Message
Going through the re-accreditation process last year allowed us to update our mission and beliefs statements for Guardian Angels School. One of our belief statements is: “Parents are the primary educators of their children in the Catholic faith, and we are partners in the faith formation of their children.” There are two major pieces to this belief that are emphasized. First, it shows the importance of parents taking an active role in the faith development of their children. This can be done by attending Mass as a family, going to confession, praying together, saying grace before meals, praying the rosary, openly discussing our faith, and much more! Parents are faith role models of their children, and this responsibility should be taken seriously. As a parent of two young boys, I try every day to be a good faith role model, but I know it is not always easy! It is important to always stay focused on this responsibility, however.

The second part of our belief statement focuses on the partnership and responsibility the school and parish have with parents to help them be strong primary educators of their children in the Catholic faith. We do this in many ways through daily religion lessons taught by our teachers, weekly Mass opportunities for students, celebration of the sacraments, seminarian visits, and much more. In addition to these examples, we also try to provide parents with resources that can be used at home to encourage the development of faith. One resource our school and parish has provided for the past several years is “FORMED.” This resource is an online database featuring videos, downloadable books, presentations, bible studies, and so much more. I encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity by registering through www.gaparish.formed.org . There are many resources available for the Advent season!

God Bless,
Corey

Stay Up-to-Date on Your VIRTUS Training
The monthly online VIRTUS content for December has been posted, so please make sure that you log into virtus.org and complete the bulletin. Teacher Wishlists:
Finally, each fall the PTA asks the teachers to provide a list of things they “wish” could be in their classroom to help enrich their teaching. These are items that remain in the classrooms and are more “capital” items. Over the last few weeks, the PTA has been able to fulfill many of the teachers' wishlist items. A few examples of items PTA has purchased are classroom area rugs, document cameras, bookshelves, light tables, storage items, and many other teaching resources to enhance the students' learning. PTA is able to meet the needs of the students and teachers because of the amazing support we receive from our parents! Thank you!

All sold and unsold 365 Lotto tickets are due by this Friday, December 14th.
