Principal's Message
Happy Catholic Schools Week! Throughout the week, we recognize the different groups that make our community special. Teachers enjoyed an appreciation lunch provided by the PTA, will participate in the annual staff vs. 8th grade volleyball game, and enjoyed playing Minute to Win It games against the 8th grade on Monday. Students participate in Penny Fair, a pep rally, and out of uniform days! It is also important to recognize you, the parents, for sending your children to Guardian Angels School. You understand the importance of a Catholic Education, and the tangible benefits that result in this well-balanced, highly engaging education. Thank you for choosing Guardian Angels, and for sharing your angels with us every day!

As part of Catholic Schools Week, the Archdiocese of Cincinnati hosts a Mass to celebrate all of the schools. Several GA 8th graders participated in the celebration on Tuesday. To begin Mass, each group of students processed in with their school banner, showing unification of all of the schools through the Archdiocese. It was a wonderful celebration of Guardian Angels and all Catholic schools!

Thank you for attending our Mass and Open House on Sunday. It was great to see many current and prospective families on campus. Re-enrollment and registration for the 2019-2020 school year is now open for all grades, preschool through 8 th grade.

Thank you for all you do for our Catholic school!

God Bless,
Corey
School News
All Enrollment Now Open
We opened enrollment to all families, new and current, at our Open House Sunday. Thank you to all the families who took advantage of our early re-enrollment period for current families.
If you have not re-enrolled your children for the 19-20 school year, please remember this is a two-step re-enrollment process.
  • First, you will complete an electronic form through Administrator’s Plus Online Forms that can be accessed from the email you received last Friday. This step must be completed for each child you are enrolling.
  • Second, you must also complete a payment which includes registration and technology fees. The payment for these combined fees will be collected through the WeShare payment site.
The email you received January 18th from Bob Buck included instructions and links to the Administrator’s Plus Online Forms and the WeShare payment site. Both re-enrollment steps must be completed for full registration into next school year.

The preschool process is separate from the KDG-8 th grade process. If you are re-enrolling in preschool and KDG-8, you will need to fill out online re-enrollment forms for all of your returning students using Administrator’s Plus Online Forms and then make two payments at the WeShare payment site: one for your re-enrolling student(s) in preschool and one for your re-enrolling student(s) in KDG-8 th grade. Also, if you are a current family registering a new student in any grade level, a new student registration packet can be found through the school website or in the school office.
Deadline to Apply For Assistance From Archdiocese is Tomorrow
As the re-enrollment process begins, we strongly encourage families to apply for tuition assistance through the Catholic Education Foundation. This needs-based scholarship was a major piece to the One Faith, One Hope, One Love campaign from the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. This year, 2 million dollars will be distributed to families of elementary school students for the 2019-2020 school year. To learn more and apply, please visit http://catholicbestchoice.org/k-8-tuition-information/ All families who plan to apply for financial assistance from Guardian Angels must first apply for assistance from this source. The deadline to apply is January 31 . Last year, over $28,000 was given to Guardian Angels families from the Catholic Education Foundation Tuition Assistance Fund.
Note from the Nurse's Office
Medication at school:  If your child needs medication at school, please send it in the original container/packaging along with the GA medication administration form. We are happy to have a student's medicine available for when it is needed, but in order for us to administer the medication safely, we need to be able to verify that we are giving the correct medication, and dose, in addition to making sure the medication has not expired. For this reason, we cannot accept medicine in plastic baggies.
Thank you for helping us keep your angels safe!
Penny Wars is Friday
Penny Fair is on Friday, February 1st , 10:30am-1:30pm
  • All students must have a wristband. These were ordered last week.
  • Students in preschool through first grade must have a parent volunteer to escort them during Penny Fair.
Volunteers Needed:
In order for this to be a successful event, we need many volunteers. Thank you to everyone who has agreed to help! We still need a few volunteers to help with the final counting for Penny Wars. Click here if you'd be available Thursday morning.
We are also still looking for volunteers to staff several games at Penny Fair and help with event cleanup. Click here to help with Penny Fair.

Due to Penny Fair, there will be no Extended Care on Friday, February 1st.
Mr. Diehl's Second Graders Learn Cajun Culture
Last summer Mr. Diehl had the pleasure of subbing as a bass player with the band, Robin Lacy & de Zydeco. Joani Lacy, a rub board player and singer in the band, is also a novelist who recently finished a children’s book called “Jack & Remy’s Bayou Band,” (illustrated by Debbi Kern). Mr. Diehl’s second graders learned a little Cajun music and culture as they read the story about how the swamp animals helped catch a group of poachers by starting their own Zydeco band. Special thanks to Joani Lacy for donating a copy her new book to Guardian Angels School library.
