Principal's Message
On Friday, we will conclude another successful school year! I invite everyone to our final all school Mass, beginning at 9:00. At this Mass, we conclude the school year by singing the Circle Song. It is a heartwarming experience to hear our students be part of this tradition as they prepare to advance in grade level. Below, the chorus for the song is listed; and I could not agree with the words more! Please remember that there is no afternoon bus service available on Friday and students will be dismissed directly from Mass. If you are not able to attend Mass, please plan to meet your child in the parking lot (similar to our typical afternoon dismissal for car riders). Students will be exiting directly from Mass through the gathering space, so please plan to be in the parking lot by 9:45.

All my life’s a circle, sunrise and sundown.
The moon rose through the nighttime,
‘Till the daybreak comes around.
All my life’s a circle, but I can’t tell you why
The seasons spinning ‘round again.
The years keep rolling by.

Thank you for sending your angels to GA this school year. I cherish each one of the students, and have truly enjoyed interacting with them as they developed throughout the year. Guardian Angels School is a special place because of the people who make this an outstanding community! May God bless each community member for a safe and fun summer! I look forward to seeing all our angels again in 84 days as we begin the 2019-2020 school year!

God Bless,
Corey

Last Day of School
Our last day of school is scheduled for Friday, May 31 . Bus service will be available in the morning, but there will be no bus transportation for dismissal. All students must be picked up from school. Beginning this year, we will officially conclude the school year at Mass with the circle song. There will not be a closing ceremony afterwards. Students will be released directly from Mass. They will not need their backpacks or other materials on the last day. All items, including report cards, will be sent home on Thursday.

Summer Math Books
Each student currently in grades K-7 will receive a Summer Solutions Math book to complete over the summer break. Books will be distributed to students on the final day of school. Each book costs $15 and is a requirement for all students to complete. Please begin sending in the $15 payment as soon as possible to your child's homeroom teacher.
Families with new students beginning the 2019-2020 school year, please contact the school office for their summer books .

Order School Supplies for Next Year Now
Orders for School Supply Kits are now being accepted. This offers a convenience for parents to have all of your child's needed items collected and ready for the start of class.
Orders must be placed  online   by May 31st . Supply kits will then be mailed to GA and ready for pick-up from Room 4 in the school on Sunday, August 18th after the 10:00 and 12:00 Masses. If you have any questions, please email  Jill Buchmann
Participation in this program is not required. If parents would like to shop on their own, grade level supply lists are available on our website .
Preschool and prek are not included in the school supply kits. A supply list for those students can be found here .

Forest Hills Bus Forms Due
Students who live in the Forest Hills School District and take the bus to school must complete a new transportation request form each year. The form is attached and due by the end of June. It must be returned to FHSD, not to GA. The mailing address is listed on the form.

Community Service Program - Faith in Action
The purpose of the Christian Service Program is to enhance the religion curriculum at Guardian Angels Church. It is the duty of all Christians to reach out in service to those around them. Christ asks us to be His hands and feet on earth, keeping His mission of reaching out to those in need alive. The students will complete their service in the following settings: at home, the parish community/school and the community at-large. Packets are coming home this week that will further explain the program. Please reach out if you have any questions!

Travelling Over the Summer?
Try out a different church by the beach, in the mountains or even in another country! Go to  www.masstimes.org  and type in your location to find a Mass near you.

Thank you to all the faculty and staff, parents and students for making the transition to the DRE position so wonderful for me! It has been an amazing year working with the teachers and children as we build up the Kingdom of God together. I am looking forward to next school year as we continue to learn more about Jesus and share the light of His love. Many thanks to Joan Schoenhoeft for her guidance and support! May God bless each of you always and in all ways!

End of the Year Reminders From the Health Room
Medication
Thank you to all of you who sent in medication for your children this school year. Unfortunately, we are unable to keep the medication for use in the next school year. For safety reasons, we require all medication be picked up by a parent or guardian at the conclusion of the school year.

Health forms are found on the school website . If you know you will be sending prescription medication in with your child next year, you may print off the “Administration of Medication by School Personnel” authorization form and have it signed by your healthcare provider this summer. (This includes emergency medication.) If you plan to send in new over-the-counter medication for your children in the fall; the same form is used, but only a parent signature is required.

Seventh Grade Immunizations
A reminder, the state of Ohio now requires two vaccines before students enter seventh grade, one dose of Dtap and one dose of Meningococcal (MCV4) vaccine. Thank you to all of you who have returned your child's immunization documentation. If any further documentation is required for your child, we have sent home letters with specific documentation required for him/her. We realize some of you will have appointments over the summer and hope this will be helpful.

Please feel free to contact me at any time.

2019 Fall Golf for Boys & Girls
Golf is in full swing with spring here and it is time to register for the Fall 2019 Golf season!  Registration is available online for boys and girls for incoming 6th-8th grades. Golfers need to have a knowledge of the game (etiquette, general rules, own clubs, etc.) and minimally play over the summer on par 3 courses (Little Miami, Lunken, etc.). Beginning in August, practices will be held on Saturday mornings at Little Miami Golf Center and practice will consist of range time, putting green time and then play on the Par 3.  Please note, parents are expected/needed to help monitor practice when their child is on the par 3 course in order to maintain pace of play, keep players out of harms way and help reinforce good golf habits.  Golf matches will be on weekdays August through early October.

There are many great junior programs (Little Miami Golf Center, Lunken Golf Course, etc.) over the summer and players are encouraged to participate to support their golf development from local PGA professionals. Please contact Paul Steinhaus to learn more about GAs golf program and/or summer jr. programs.

You can  sign-up  to have a portion of your purchase sales come back to Guardian Angels. When you make purchases through the AmazonSmile page, and have GA selected as your beneficiary, the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price of eligible products back to GA.  You have to be shopping from smile.amazon.com page of the site for us to receive the benefit.

Register your rewards card  online  and select Guardian Angels as your beneficiary. You can search for GA or use our NPO number, 80200. The amount Guardian Angels receives depends on the points our supporters rack up while grocery shopping. Enrolling does NOT impact the points you use to redeem for discounts at the pump.c
