Principal's Message

We are deep into our admissions process for the 2026-2027 school year. All current families have already had the opportunity to re-enroll students and apply for new students in their family. We are now evaluating new student applications from other parish families, as well as those who are not currently members of our parish. Notice of acceptance or being placed on a waitlist will be sent to families this Friday, January 23.

Demand to get into GA is at an unprecedented level. Already this year, we have received over 150 applications, and tours will continue over the next few months. One grade with exceptionally strong demand for next year is kindergarten. To meet this demand, we are opening a third section of kindergarten next year. This additional class is already near capacity!

As we finalize the admissions process for new and current families, it is fitting that all of this leads into Catholic Schools Week, which kicks off next week! It is always a fun and exciting week for staff and students as we celebrate the wonderful school, parish, and community that we share. Please know how much I appreciate you entrusting your children with us as we guide them in all aspects of their education!

God Bless,

Corey Stoops

Recognizing Our Amazing Teachers!

Everyone knows that Guardian Angels boasts some of the most amazing teachers and staff members! Each week, we want to recognize two of them and shower them with love and appreciation. Last week, we celebrated our 2nd Grade Teacher, Sarah Goins, and our 7th Grade Teacher, Margaret Dorson-King. This week we celebrate our 2nd Grade Teacher, Angie Smith, and David Beckman, of our School Maintenance team.

Mrs. Smith has been a cherished member of the GA community for over 25 years. She is an integral part of our school, excelling in preparing students for their First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. Her readiness to assist wherever needed and support her colleagues is truly commendable. Thank you, Mrs. Smith, for being a dedicated team player.

We are truly grateful to Mr. Beckman, who is always seen with a smile on his face. Whether it’s a cleanup or a repair, he approaches it with a cheerful attitude. We deeply appreciate Mr. Beckman for consistently helping to keep our school safe and clean.

Please join us in recognizing and celebrating these two outstanding GA staff members. You can leave a kind note here. Notes, cards, emails, flowers, gift cards, etc. are always appreciated!

2026-2027 Scholarship Applications Due February 28th

Catholic Education Foundation

The Catholic Education Foundation (CEF) for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati is offering tuition assistance scholarships for the 2026-2027 school year for Preschool-8th grade students. Any family not scheduled to receive the full EdChoice scholarship amount for next school year should apply for assistance through this portal. This is the same portal that Guardian Angels also uses to determine award amount using our school/parish funds. Many families did not receive the full EdChoice scholarship amount due to family income being too high, already being on the Jon Peterson Scholarship, or another reason. The CEF, along with GA funds, can be used to assist these families.

To apply, families will need to fully complete a FACTS Grant and Aid application by inputting financial information (income, assets, and household income). FACTS then uses an internally built calculation to determine financial need based on the family's ability to pay. FACTS applications may be completed now and are due February 28th. For more information, click here.

EdChoice

We are now accepting EdChoice documents for the 2026-2027 school year for families of current students seeking renewal and initial requests for new students. Families will need to submit the following documentation to edchoice@gaschool.org.

  1. EdChoice 2026-2027 Renewal Form for any child currently receiving the EdChoice Scholarship.
  2. EdChoice 2026-2027 Request Form for any child not currently receiving the EdChoice Scholarship (new/initial application).
  3. Current utility bill (dated February 2026) showing a matching service and mailing address.

Please note that any signatures on your application must be a physical signature, not an electronic one, as per the state’s guidelines. Any applications with electronic signatures will not be accepted and will need to be resubmitted.

If you are renewing a scholarship from a previous year, do not fill out an Income Verification Form, unless you experienced a loss/reduction in income throughout the fiscal year. This will help maximize your scholarship amount.

All scholarship applications are due February 28th.

2026 Catholic Schools Week

Jan. 28th - Feb. 2nd

The theme of Catholic Schools Week 2026 is “United in Faith and Community.” As a thriving Catholic school, we strive to provide the best educational instruction and religious formation for your family. Catholic Schools Week is a wonderful time to thank God for the many blessings He gives us as well as show our gratitude to you for choosing Guardian Angels and trusting us to enrich your children’s lives! We also thank the parish for supporting our school through your donations and prayers. There are many activities scheduled throughout the week. Please click here to see the theme and details for each day.

Thank You and Update from Mrs. Pyles

I want to send out an enormous THANK YOU to the GA Community. I am humbled by the kindness and support my family and I have received from you all. From the smiles and happy comments I hear from students when they see me at school, to the handmade cards that arrive at my desk, to the sea of teal at the pap rally, to the prayers of everyone (I feel them working!), to the delicious dinners that nourish my family when I don't have the energy to cook and, of course the financial support that helps with my missed work hours for treatment and recovery, and everything in between, these are so very appreciated! Please know we take nothing for granted and thank you from the bottom of our hearts. GA lives their Catholic Faith so beautifully.

For those interested in an update on my health: it was shared that I was diagnosed with a recurrence of ovarian cancer in November. Surgery at that time removed all the cancer the surgeon could but with the location and nature of this cancer, not all was able to be removed. Chemotherapy is used to take care of the remaining cancer. The plan is for me to have six , three-week cycles of treatment. I have just completed my second full cycle. I have been fortunate to feel good enough to work a good bit between treatment days and love having the happy distraction of caring for the school. At this point, my treatment is scheduled to continue through the school year.

Great News for Anyone Who Pays Ohio Income Tax and Supports Guardian Angels

We have many students at Guardian Angels who benefit from scholarships provided by the Catholic Education Foundation (CEF). Ohio taxpayers who donate to the CEF may be able to claim a dollar-for-dollar, non-refundable tax credit on their state income tax return, up to $750 per donor. For more information, click here.

We hope you consider a donation before the end of the year and choose "Guardian Angels School (Cincinnati)(C00160)" from the drop-down when prompted.

Parishioner and tax expert, Brien Dulle, is donating. Here's what he had to say. "Supporting the CEF is a no-brainer for me for two reasons. As a graduate of GA that is also sending my daughters to the school, I want to invest in the education that our children receive. Secondly, there's no extra money out of pocket since I can claim a dollar-for-dollar Ohio tax credit."

Partner with the PTA

Calling all local businesses and organizations! The GA Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is looking for community partners to help us create meaningful opportunities for our students and families. Consider partnering with the PTA as a sponsor or hosting a giveback!

Giveback: a pre-defined event set by the PTA and your company where we market your company to our community of families and encourage attendance and a portion of proceeds from sales at the company are given back to the PTA.

  • Examples: Restaurant night where a % of sales supports the PTA, retail shop donating a portion of weekend sales, service-based business offering a special PTA promotion.

Sponsorship: a strategic partnership with the PTA where a company provides financial support in exchange for visibility and brand promotion at highly attended PTA events!

  • Benefits may include: your company logo placement on event signage and flyers; recognition in school newsletters and social media; direct connection with hundreds of local families.

How to Learn More/Express Interest:

  1. Fill out this survey (https://forms.gle/M3eTtvB6uRPmdX2a7) if you think your company would be interested in a potential partnership with GA!
