Principal's Message

Our 2024-2025 school calendar has been finalized and can be found here. You will notice a few additional professional development days planned for next year, similar to this year. We use these days to grow as a staff and become better educators for your children. We are excited to continue our work as a School of Faith. These professional development opportunities help strengthen the spiritual lives of our staff and bring us closer to one another by living our faith. Additionally, the professional development days are needed as we continue to go through the OCSAA reaccreditation process, focusing on developing two new school goals. Next year, we will work to finalize both an academic performance and a Catholic identity goal.

God Bless,

Corey

Upcoming Road Closures

The Hamilton County Engineer’s Office announced work on the second of two landslide repairs begins Sunday, March 11. That includes a lane FULL ROAD CLOSURE of Clough just east of Five Mile Road, between Five Mile Road and Wolfangel Road (west of the Clough Chase subdivision).  Construction is anticipated to continue through mid-May.

The official detour will be Clough Pike, to Five Mile Road, to Beechmont, to Wolfangel Road, and vice versa. Motorists are urged to plan for delays on the detour route, and other areas as well, as other roadways will be affected by the change in traffic flow.

Message from the Nurse's Office

Cough Drops have been particularly sought after this year, and I am having a hard time keeping up with the demand. I noticed last week that we are once again getting low, even after stocking up before I was out. Many students have a strong preference on what type they like. If you know your child frequently uses cough drops and has a preference, we will happily store a supply in the office for them. Just put your last name on the bag and have your child bring them to the nurse's office. They should remind us they have personal ones when they come downstairs.

Also, we will gladly accept donations of cough drops to help get us through the year. (A big thank you to any already sent in.)

Catholic Education Foundation Tuition Assistance Scholarships Deadline Extended

The Catholic Education Foundation for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati (CEF) has extended their application deadline. If you did not complete a scholarship application in FACTS, there is still time to apply!

CEF is offering tuition assistance scholarships for the 2024-2025 school year. Scholarships are available for preschool through 8th grade students. Any family not scheduled to receive the full EdChoice scholarship amount for next school year should apply for assistance through this portal. This is the same portal that Guardian Angels also uses to determine award amounts using our school/parish funds. Many families did not receive the full EdChoice scholarship amount due to family income being too high or they are accepting funds through the Jon Peterson Scholarship. The CEF, along with GA funds, can be used to assist these families. This will especially help to assist those families who are losing the multiple-child discount for next year. Again, please apply for the CEF scholarship if you are not scheduled to receive the full EdChoice scholarship amount for next year.

Click here to learn more about the scholarships available and to apply.

Set Sail with Moana Jr. at Guardian Angels!

Guardian Angels Music Boosters is proud to announce that Disney’s Moana JR. will be playing at the GA Parish Center from Thursday, March 21, through Friday, March 22 at 7:00 PM. The 60-minute musical adventure, designed for middle school-aged performers, is based on the 2016 Disney film Moana. The 4th-8th grade cast includes 33 students led by Holly Leach, Gabrielle Wadell, and Kayla Woods.

See the line where the sky meets the sea? You’ll love this thrilling and heartwarming stage adaptation of the coming-of-age tale of Moana as she sets sail across the Pacific to save her village and discover the truth about her heritage. She and the demigod Maui embark on an epic journey of self-discovery and camaraderie as she learns to harness the power that lies within. Adapted for young performers, this musical includes favorite songs by Tony®, GRAMMY, Emmy, and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Lin-Manuel Miranda, Opetaia Foa’i, and Mark Mancina, such as “How Far I’ll Go,” “Shiny,” and “You’re Welcome.” With its empowering message of bravery, Moana JR. is sure to awaken your inner hero!

Tickets may be purchased at the door or reserved online at www.gamusicboosters.org

Send a message to your star performer or crew member through our Musical’s program this year! Wish someone good luck in the performance, congratulate them on their hard work, or tell them how much you love them…all in a text line or up to 1/2 page ad! Click the order form for details.

Extended Care Pickup Fish Fry Fridays

Due to the traffic for our Fish Fry on Fridays throughout Lent, the extended care pickup process will change. On Fridays during Lent, parents will need to park in the lower lot. Weather permitting, students will be outside until 4 p.m. After 4 p.m., preschool and Pre-K parents can pick up their children in the Old Gym by ringing the doorbell outside the doors closest to Beechmont. K-8 students can be picked up by ringing the doorbell at Bishop Rehling Hall.

Track and Field Registration is Open

Guardian Angels Boosters are excited to announce that registration is now open for the upcoming third year of our current Track and Field program!

Last spring marked the first annual Guardian Angels Invitational K-6th grade and the response was so overwhelmingly positive that the CYO Track league awarded GA a 7th and 8th grade meet as well!! We also installed a Track and Field record board in the Main PC Gym at GA! Registration is now open, please click here to register!

GA will sponsor track teams this spring season that will last from March to mid-May. Boys and girls from grades K through 8 are invited to join and compete in various sprints, distance, relays and field events. The teams are K-2nd (co-ed), with separate boys' and girls' teams in 3rd & 4th, 5th & 6th, and 7th & 8th grade age groups. Different ages compete in different events including, 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m runs, 4x100, 4x200, 4x400 relays and High Jump, Long Jump, Shot Put (softball throw for K-2nd) & Discus. There is something for everyone! Time commitment will be 1 to 2 practices a week (younger grades 1 practice, older grades 2 practices) held at Nagel Middle School, with 7 meets that last about 2 hours on Saturdays (K-6th), and 7-8th grade meets are held on Friday evenings. Please see the meet schedule here.

Playing another sport such as baseball, volleyball or soccer? No problem! This is a growing program — we are flexible about attendance and can work around other sports. We had many athletes last year that play on top club teams that still made track work in their schedules and we were happy to have them! We welcome all athletes to make as many practices or meets as they can. We encourage multi-sport athletes, as track will make your child quicker, faster and more explosive for all other sports!
