Our IOWA Assessments schedule has been finalized! Students in first through seventh grade will be testing in the mornings on March 13-17 and March 21 & 23. Make-up assessments will begin immediately following these dates. Please speak with your child(ren) about the importance of this testing, and also avoid using these dates for family trips, appointments, or other occasions that would prevent your child from attending school.

Report cards, along with iReady/MAP winter assessment results will be sent home on Friday! We are now fully into our final trimester of the school year! We will continue working hard and providing a positive and productive learning environment through the last day of the year!

God bless,

Corey

Due to the traffic for our Fish Fry on Fridays throughout Lent, the extended care pickup process will change. On Fridays during Lent, parents will need to park in the lower lot. K-8 students can be picked up by ringing the doorbell at Bishop Rehling Hall.

Substitute Teachers

Our substitutes serve an essential function in the successful running of the school; we could not operate without them. If you are interested in becoming a substitute, please contact Melissa Boston in the school office! We are always looking for dedicated individuals to help in this capacity. Thank you for considering!

GA's Spring Musical is The Wizard of Oz!

The Wizard of Oz Young Performers' Edition will be performed at Guardian Angels School on Thursday, March 23rd and Friday, March 24th.

Young Dorothy Gale is swept away by a tornado from her Kansas farm to the magical land of Oz. There, she encounters a host of whimsical characters: good witches, bad witches, animals that talk, scarecrows that walk, and things magical to behold. To find her way home, she must journey along the Yellow Brick Road to see the mysterious and all-powerful Wizard in Emerald City. Along the way, she makes new friends, but must also brave many dangers, including the Wicked Witch of the West, who will stop at nothing to get her hands on Dorothy’s magical ruby slippers. To make it home safely, Dorothy must learn an important lesson: there’s no place like home.

For information on purchasing tickets, please visit gamusicboosters.org.

Send a message to your star performer or crew member through our Musical’s program this year! Wish someone good luck in the performance, congratulate them on their hard work, or tell them how much you love them…all in a text line or up to 1/2 page ad! Click the order form for details.

Bible Camp

Food Truck Party VBS invites children of all ages to get on a roll with God as a parade of Food Trucks rolls into their neighborhood for the summer's biggest party!

Children are invited to pray as Jesus teaches us in Matthew 6:11; "Give us this day our daily bread." These words serve as a reminder that everything we have comes from God — and that it's by turning to God in prayer that all of our daily needs are met.

GA’s Bible Camp runs from Monday, June 19 through Thursday, June 22 from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

Click here for more information.

We are also in need of incoming 7th grade, 8th grade and high school volunteers. Contact Mrs. Froehlich to volunteer.

Christian Service Program - Faith in Action

The purpose of the Christian Service Program is to enhance the religion curriculum at Guardian Angels Church. It is the duty of all Christians to reach out in service to those around them. Christ asks us to be His hands and feet on earth, keeping His mission of reaching out to those in need alive. The students will complete their service within the following settings: at home, the parish community/school and the community at-large. This outreach may be completed individually, with a partner, or in a group.

This program will focus more on the meaning of the actual service opportunities rather than completing a prescribed amount of time. You will choose activities for each component—service to your family, service to your school/parish and service to the poor and vulnerable in our community. There is no minimum requirement of hours to complete. Grades 1-3 are required to complete at least 2 activities for each component; grades 4-8 at least 3 for each. You are certainly encouraged to complete more! See your Religion teacher, Mrs. Froehlich, or the parish website for a list of suggested activities and the log sheet.

Questions? Contact Kay Froehlich, Director of Religious Education, for more information.
