School News

School Start Time & Parking Lot Safety

Many students are arriving to school after our start time! Please remember that instruction begins at 8:00am. All students should be in their seats, prepared to learn at that time. As such, please drop your children off by 7:55am each day.

Morning Car Line Drop Off

Please remember that it is essential to stay in the car line during drop-off. Parents should not exit the line early or loop around after dropping off to exit through Alcor Terrace. We understand that exiting onto Brachman can sometimes cause delays, especially during the dismissal of the 7:30am mass. However, it is crucial for the safety of our students that all parents adhere to these procedures. Thank you for your cooperation.

Afternoon Pickup

Please be aware that public school buses may occasionally run a few minutes late due to their schedule of picking up students from other schools before our dismissal. We kindly ask that you remain vigilant as buses will enter our main driveway and will need to pull into the lot nearest the football field.

To ensure the safety of all students, we encourage parents to monitor the buses as they arrive, clear the driveway, and keep a close watch on young children waiting for dismissal.

Additionally, our bus drivers have requested that parents refrain from walking between buses. This practice poses safety risks and should be avoided at all times. Thank you for your attention to these important safety measures.

Guardian Angels Mascot

What Does Guardian Angels Mean to You?

When you hear Guardian Angels, what comes to mind? Do you picture a feeling, a symbol, a spirit? Is it warmth, protection, joy, or community What does Guardian Angels look like, feel like, and act like to you?

Now, think about the last time you saw a giant cartoon character, a mascot with oversized shoes, or someone in a costume that made you laugh, smile, and snap a picture. Maybe it brought unexpected energy and excitement to an event. We believe it's time Guardian Angels had something like that—something to bring our spirit to life in a fun, visual, and memorable way.

Guardian Angels has been part of our community for nearly 130 years, but we've never had a walking, talking, dancing representation of our school and church spirit. That’s about to change—and we need your help.

We’re creating our school’s first-ever mascot, and we’re looking for YOUR creativity!

Do you have an idea, a sketch, a description, or just a word that captures the spirit of Guardian Angels? We want to know:

  1. What should our mascot look like?
  2. How should it move or dance?
  3. What should it represent?
  4. What name would bring it to life?

Starting after Spring Break, Mrs. Donahue’s art classes will begin exploring mascot ideas. Each grade will have the chance to submit drawings, thoughts, and concepts. Over the summer, we’ll narrow the submissions down to final concepts and designs—and then next school year, we’ll reveal and name our very first Guardian Angels mascot!

And if any current students are interested in being the mascot next year—bringing the energy, fun, and spirit to life at events—please reach out to Brian Kathmann at kathmann.brian@gmail.com

We can't wait to see your creativity, passion, and Guardian Angels spirit shine through. Let’s build something special—together.
