Principal's Message

It was wonderful to gather as a school community for Mass yesterday as we celebrated the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows. This special feast reminds us of Mary’s incredible faith and trust in God, even during the most difficult moments of her life. Her example encourages all of us to trust that God is always with us, through both our joys and our challenges.

Today’s Mass was made even more special by three of our Angels! Sam Dawson, Stella Davis,

and Cara Richert served as our cantors and did an incredible job leading our school in song. Their beautiful voices and willingness to share their gifts truly enhanced our celebration. I was so proud to see them lead our school community and help all of our Angels participate more fully in the Mass!

Our students are also growing in their faith this week through the Sacrament of Reconciliation. All students in grades 3–8 either received the sacrament yesterday or will have the opportunity to do so on Thursday. What a blessing it is that our students have opportunities during the school day to experience God’s mercy and forgiveness and continue strengthening their relationship with Christ.

These are the moments that make Catholic education so special. Mass, Reconciliation, prayer, and opportunities for our students to share their God-given gifts are all part of what it means to be an Angel. I am grateful that we are able to experience and celebrate our faith together as a school community!

God Bless,

Corey Stoops

Thank You To Our Teachers and Staff!

A special thank-you to our amazing Junior High teachers for the dedication, patience, and passion you bring to Guardian Angels each day. Leading our older students comes with unique challenges and you do an incredible job guiding them academically, spiritually, and personally.

You serve as important role models for our entire school community, setting high expectations while helping our students grow into confident, responsible young adults. Your hard work and commitment are helping prepare our students for success as they move on to the many Catholic high schools ahead.

Thank you for all you do to challenge, encourage, and inspire our Junior High students. Guardian Angles is stronger because of you!

If you’d like to send them a quick note of encouragement and appreciation, you may do so here: Our teachers would love to hear from you! – Fill out form

iReady Testing

Our students began iReady benchmark testing last week, with testing continuing through September 25. Different grade levels will test on different days during this window.

iReady is a computer-based assessment that helps us measure each student’s skills in reading and mathematics, identify areas of strength and areas that need additional support, and monitor academic growth throughout the school year.

We benchmark three times a year—fall, winter, and spring—so teachers can track progress, adjust instruction, and provide targeted interventions when needed. The spring iReady assessment also serves as our end-of-year Ohio state testing requirement for participating grade levels. Once testing is complete, we will provide parents with information explaining how to access and view their child’s iReady results.

We ask parents to help their children do their best by ensuring they are well rested, arrive at school on time, and eat a healthy breakfast on testing days. Your support helps our students feel prepared, confident, and ready to show what they know!

Dues and Class Fees

Annual Dues – $100 per family

This single fee supports all three parent‑led organizations at Guardian Angels: PTA, Athletic Boosters, and Fine Arts Boosters. (The PTA facilitates collection.) We rely on your support to fund essential programs and improvements.

  • PTA Initiatives: Penny Fair, used uniform exchange, teacher appreciation events, recess equipment, capital school improvements, and direct support for classroom needs.
  • Recent Impact: Last year’s fundraising supported the PTA’s development project of painting the remaining school interior hallways and stairwells and updating the nurse’s office and intervention teaching spaces. These spaces were painted and outfitted with all new furniture.
  • Athletic Boosters: Funds help cover rising costs for uniforms, equipment, and league fees, and support ongoing turf field and grounds maintenance.
  • Fine Arts Boosters: Supports performing and visual arts programs across all grade levels.

Class Fees – $20 per child

Funds cover supplies and snacks. Preschool–4th grade will have parties led by their classroom coordinators for Halloween, Christmas and Valentine’s Day. 5th–8th grade will enjoy pizza parties for these same events.

Synod 2027

As we prepare for the excitement and busyness of the 2026-2027 school year, we wanted to make sure you knew about a unique opportunity this fall to contribute to the direction of our school, and our wider Catholic community—Synod 2027.

A Synod is a prayerful process in which the faithful share personal reflections on how they encounter Christ in the local Church. Then, Church leadership, in our case Archbishop Robert Casey, prayerfully considers those reflections to determine how God is speaking through His people.  The Synod is not a vote and will not change any Church doctrine or dogma. It is a determination of the archdiocese’s top pastoral priorities. The outcome could impact school communities, so we encourage as many people participating as possible. Your main opportunity to participate is by signing up and attending a Conversations in the Spirit session, followed by participating in an online survey called the Disciple Maker Index.

For more information, click here.

A Family Centered in Christ

Family life is often busy and chaotic. It's important to find a center that holds everything together. For a Catholic family, that center is Jesus. He gives us strength to order our priorities and find peace when life gets demanding. To read more, click here.

Guardian Angels Prayer Partner Program

The Guardian Angels Prayer Partner program was set up as part of the preparation for First Communion.  Each second grade child is paired with an adult from our parish and they are asked to pray for each other throughout the year.  It is not a huge time commitment. We try to get together 3-4 times throughout the school year to meet each other and go to mass with each other. During the times they are not together they are asked to pray for each other.

If you are interested in being part of this wonderful program, you will need to complete the Safe Environment Training Program. Please see the information below from our Safe Environment Coordinator, Mrs. Joan Schoenhoeft.

In accordance with the Archdiocese of Cincinnati’s Decree on Child Protection, any adult (18+) who volunteers in a capacity that involves contact with youth must meet specific safe environment requirements before they can begin volunteering.

To become eligible, all volunteers must complete the following steps:

  1. Register for SafeParish
  2. Complete the Online Background Check
  3. Complete the Child Protection Training Bulletin
  4. Acknowledge Decree

To maintain good standing, you will also be required to complete short (5 minutes), ongoing quarterly training bulletins sent via email.

We are so blessed to have wonderful volunteers at G.A. and it is our great desire that you will continue as a prayer partner for our youth.

If you are interested in volunteering, please reach out to me at Jschoenhoeft@gaparish.org, or 513-624-2195, and I will be happy to send you detailed instructions on how to complete the above requirements.
