Principal's Message

Guardian Angels School is supported by an Education Board with a purpose/mission of working collaboratively with the school principal to promote and advance the school mission and beliefs statements. This group is comprised of school administration, teachers, parish staff, leaders of parish service organizations (PTA, Boosters, etc.) and parents. This Board also gives all parents the opportunity to bring forth any major concerns or issues they feel are present within the community. Parents are encouraged to contact one of the Education Board representatives listed below to express any concern or highlight areas that are going exceptionally well. There is representation at all grade bands.

Our first meeting of the year was held last night, and we will meet again on October 27. We are scheduled to meet 5 times throughout the school year. Items of focus for the year include strategic planning related to increased enrollment, assisting the school administration in the fulfillment of our OCSAA accreditation goals, admissions activities/processes, school safety, and other topics as determined by the committee/feedback from the community. I look forward to working with this diverse and talented group throughout the year.

God bless,

Corey

i-Ready Fall Testing Results

Fall i-Ready testing is now complete! This week, students will bring home a parent report with login information so families can access and review their student’s i-Ready results. We encourage parents to take a few minutes to look over the report and celebrate their student’s progress. Our next i-Ready assessment will take place in January, and we will continue to use these results to monitor student growth and provide support where needed.

EdChoice Documentation

EdChoice

Each family accepting the EdChoice scholarship received an EdChoice Award letter mailed from the Ohio Department of Education and Workplace. As a school, we are required to retain this document at the school. If you have not sent this form to the school yet, please do so this ASAP. If you misplaced your letter or did not receive one, please fill out the template here and return to the school office. Please note, this is for each family accepting their approved scholarship and is not the application itself. Only complete this set if you have previously submitted an EdChoice scholarship application for the 2026-2027 school year.

After-School Art Enrichment

Dues and Class Fees

Annual Dues – $100 per family

This single fee supports all three parent‑led organizations at Guardian Angels: PTA, Athletic Boosters, and Fine Arts Boosters. (The PTA facilitates collection.) We rely on your support to fund essential programs and improvements.

  • PTA Initiatives: Penny Fair, used uniform exchange, teacher appreciation events, recess equipment, capital school improvements, and direct support for classroom needs.
  • Recent Impact: Last year’s fundraising supported the PTA’s development project of painting the remaining school interior hallways and stairwells and updating the nurse’s office and intervention teaching spaces. These spaces were painted and outfitted with all new furniture.
  • Athletic Boosters: Funds help cover rising costs for uniforms, equipment, and league fees, and support ongoing turf field and grounds maintenance.
  • Fine Arts Boosters: Supports performing and visual arts programs across all grade levels.

Class Fees – $20 per child

Funds cover supplies and snacks. Preschool–4th grade will have parties led by their classroom coordinators for Halloween, Christmas and Valentine’s Day. 5th–8th grade will enjoy pizza parties for these same events.

Synod 2027

Register for the Synod 2027 Session Happening at Immaculate Heart of Mary on September 23 from 7 - 9 pm. There will also be dedicated tables for Parents of School Children

As we prepare for the excitement and busyness of the 2026-2027 school year, we wanted to make sure you knew about a unique opportunity this fall to contribute to the direction of our school, and our wider Catholic community—Synod 2027.

A Synod is a prayerful process in which the faithful share personal reflections on how they encounter Christ in the local Church. Then, Church leadership, in our case Archbishop Robert Casey, prayerfully considers those reflections to determine how God is speaking through His people.  The Synod is not a vote and will not change any Church doctrine or dogma. It is a determination of the archdiocese’s top pastoral priorities. The outcome could impact school communities, so we encourage as many people participating as possible. Your main opportunity to participate is by signing up and attending a Conversations in the Spirit session, followed by participating in an online survey called the Disciple Maker Index.

For more information, click here.

A Family Centered in Christ

Family life is often busy and chaotic. It's important to find a center that holds everything together. For a Catholic family, that center is Jesus. He gives us strength to order our priorities and find peace when life gets demanding. To read more, click here.

Guardian Angels Prayer Partner Program

The Guardian Angels Prayer Partner program was set up as part of the preparation for First Communion.  Each second grade child is paired with an adult from our parish and they are asked to pray for each other throughout the year.  It is not a huge time commitment. We try to get together 3-4 times throughout the school year to meet each other and go to mass with each other. During the times they are not together they are asked to pray for each other.

If you are interested in being part of this wonderful program, you will need to complete the Safe Environment Training Program. Please see the information below from our Safe Environment Coordinator, Mrs. Joan Schoenhoeft.

In accordance with the Archdiocese of Cincinnati’s Decree on Child Protection, any adult (18+) who volunteers in a capacity that involves contact with youth must meet specific safe environment requirements before they can begin volunteering.

To become eligible, all volunteers must complete the following steps:

  1. Register for SafeParish
  2. Complete the Online Background Check
  3. Complete the Child Protection Training Bulletin
  4. Acknowledge Decree

To maintain good standing, you will also be required to complete short (5 minutes), ongoing quarterly training bulletins sent via email.

We are so blessed to have wonderful volunteers at G.A. and it is our great desire that you will continue as a prayer partner for our youth.

If you are interested in volunteering, please reach out to me at Jschoenhoeft@gaparish.org, or 513-624-2195, and I will be happy to send you detailed instructions on how to complete the above requirements.

Cookie Ministry

Guardian Angels School Cookie Ministry teams up with the Parish Peanut Butter group to feed families in need. The Peanut Butter group makes 1,500 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. GA students donate cookies. All donations are taken to St. Francis Seraph Soup Kitchen.

Students are asked to bring in two dozen cookies, brownies, or rice krispie bars on their classroom's designated day. Treats need to be bagged, with two treats per bag. Donations of small water bottles, jars of jelly, and individually prepackaged snacks are also needed.

All 3rd grade classes are responsible for the next donation on Monday, September 28th. A complete schedule for the school year is attached.

Any children involved in the baking or packing of the treats can count their time toward Service to the Poor and Vulnerable.
