GA Cub Scouts

Our GA Cub Scouts have been busy this winter, working on building tool boxes and rock climbing!  The scouts learned how to safely cut wood, use a hammer and nail, measure boards and paint and stain.

They collected toys for St. Joseph's Orphanage as part of our Pack Christmas Party.

The Scouts also had a pack outing to Climb Time in Oakley, were the boys did come rock climbing.

Coming up on February 23rd, they have the annual Pinewood Derby Car race in the undercroft. The Scouts would like to extend the invitation to everyone to join up at the race. This is a good opportunity for students interested in scouting to come see what it is all about. More information is attached.

GA Athletics Boosters Scholarship
Guardian Angels Athletic Program strives to provide a positive sports experience, while teaching the fundamentals of each sport and preparing children for high school athletic programs. The GA Booster Board is dedicated to providing the best possible athletic program for the children of our parish. Catholic Youth Athletics furthers the mission of the Catholic Church by providing sports experiences for the youth that are firmly rooted in the Catholic faith tradition, based on the goals of the Catholic Youth Ministry, and aligned with the evangelizing mission of the Catholic Church.
This spring, the GA Athletic Boosters will again award two $1,500 non-renewable scholarships to one male and one female 8th grade student enrolled at Guardian Angels school or a student parishioner enrolled in CCD to help with the costs of a Catholic high school education. Click here for eligibility and application.  The deadline is Friday, March 20 .
Registration Open For Track
Calling all runners and jumpers! Registration is now open for boys and girls grades 3-8 who would like to participate in track this Spring. Track is a great sport that can easily fit as a second or third option for those participating in other Spring sports. Regardless of experience or skill level, all are welcome and will find it to be a very enjoyable and fun activity. Like past years, we anticipate our teams will be combining with IHM’s track teams. Don’t miss out on the fun and register as soon as possible. More information is available on the Boosters' website . If you have any questions or if you need any additional information, please feel free to contact Toby Schisler .

Family Rosary
GA is blessed to have Eucharistic Adoration almost every Thursday from 3:00-9:00pm. We begin those hours with the Family Rosary at 3:00pm. We say five decades of the rosary and rotate which mysteries we pray based on the day of the week or the liturgical season. It takes about 20 minutes. We will be praying each week for our Guardian Angels school and parish community. ALL ages welcome.

Box Tops Goes Digital This Year
Box Tops is going digital! The Guardian Angels PTA collects Box Tops and uses the funds earned to purchase indoor recess games and outdoor recess equipment. This year, Box Tops is switching to a digital platform. To participate, you’ll need to download the Box Tops App. No more cutting labels off boxes! Instead, you’ll go into the Box Tops app and just scan your grocery receipt within 14 days of purchase. You’ll find more information attached . You can also watch a quick video showing how the new digital platform works here.

Currently, you can still find old Box Tops labels on some products. GA students can still submit those paper Box Tops to their homeroom teachers and parishioners can drop them off in the special collection envelope located on the bulletin board in the Church Gathering Space. Those labels will be picked up again on March 1st . These physical labels are being phased out though so at some point the digital option will be the only way to submit Box Tops.
Kroger Community Rewards
Have you signed up for Kroger Community Rewards and designated GA as your beneficiary? The more families who register, the more money our school receives through the program. Kroger Community Rewards offers a great way for you to support our school's technology fund...and you don't have to spend a penny. You can search for GA or use our NPO number, 80200. The amount Guardian Angels receives depends on the points our supporters rack up while grocery shopping.
