After their inspiring concert on Saturday night, we will have some bonus time with these musicians as they join hands with Douglas Kostner and our Chancel Choir for Sunday Worship to offer music curated around the theme of "Homecoming."

 Afterwards, we will all head outside to Forest Park Avenue, where all the great things you have come to love about the Block Party (including the Bounce House, games for the kids, bubbles, and plenty of food and treats for everyone) will all be in full swing. As always, we are grateful to our Welcoming Committee and our Deacons for organizing this event.

As you can see, we are pulling out all the stops to make this a memorable kick-off for another great year of programming at Larchmont Avenue Church. We hope to see you all there!

And as our children return to their classrooms, we offer...

Blessed are the CURIOUS, for theirs is like a fresh notebook, ready to be filled with knowledge.

Blessed are the NERVOUS, for they will find reassurance in old friends and kind teachers.

Blessed are those who are SHY, for kind thoughts grow in quiet minds.

Blessed are those who HUNGER AND THIRST, for their lunchboxes and cafeteria trays will be filled.

Blessed are those who just CAN’T SIT STILL, for God loves an eager and excited spirit.

Blessed are those who are in A NEW SCHOOL, for some of God’s best work is done in new beginnings.

Blessed are those who LOOK FORWARD TO RECESS, for joyful laughs and rest nurture the soul.

Blessed are those who are OVERWHELMED, for they will find peace in the fleeting moments of understanding.

Blessed are you when the work is too hard, the weekends are too short, and it is all just too much.

Rejoice and be glad, FOR YOU ARE CALLED GOD’S BELOVED CHILD and have been prepared for a time such as this.
