Siblings in Christ,
I don’t know about you, but I’ve been struggling lately. When we look around at the world right now, it’s easy to feel weighed down. The news reminds us daily of violence, division, greed, and uncertainty. Many of us carry our own private worries, too—about our families, our health, our work, or our future. It can feel like the ground beneath us is shifting, and sometimes it’s hard to know where to stand.
And yet—this is why we gather. The church is not an escape from the world, but a place where we come together to remember that we don’t face it alone. Here, we hold each other’s burdens. Here, we remind each other that God’s love is stronger than hatred, and that kindness, even when it seems small, matters more than we can imagine.
As we return to our regular programming and ministries, I feel such gratitude. It is a gift to hear children laughing and learning in Sunday School again. It is a blessing to watch our youth finding their voice, to see our choir lift their songs, and to see our pews filled once again. These rhythms of church life root us. They remind us of who we are—and whose we are.
The world may be uncertain, but here we are reminded of a deeper truth: that we are God’s beloved community, called to encourage one another, to serve together, and to shine a light of hope in the world.
So let us give thanks for the gift of being church together. And let us carry this joy, this strength, this love into the days ahead.
Thanks be to God. Amen.
