Sign Up for Mass
on Sundays and Wednesdays in July!
As previously announced, we now have sign ups available for our 10:30 AM Sunday mass and 6:30 PM Wednesday mass:
A FEW CLARIFYING NOTES FROM THE RECTOR ABOUT "SIGNING UP" FOR WORSHIP:

  1. Yep, It's Odd. We recognize that it is a strange thing to ask folks to "sign up" for worship. However, we are living through strange times—and this was the best system that we could come up with for now.
  2. It is a Sign Up -- Not a Lottery. If you want to come to mass, all you have to do is click on one of the links above and sign up. It is that easy. If you can't figure out how to complete the form, call or e-mail the Parish Office, and Marie would be happy to help.
  3. Right Now, There Are Plenty of Spots Available. More people have signed up over the last week, but there are still open spots available for Sundays and Wednesdays.
  4. If We Run Out of Spots on Sundays and Wednesdays, We Will Schedule More Masses. I love saying the mass -- so, if we get to a point when all of the available spots are taken, then I am happy to schedule additional masses to accommodate folks. Also, if you are uncomfortable coming to a service with ten people and would prefer a smaller service, just let me know, and I am happy to schedule something that will work better for you.
  5. Initially, Don't Sign Up for More than One Sunday a Month (But Feel Free to Sign Up for Multiple Wednesdays).
Covenant for In-Person Worship
(from Diocesan Guidelines)
Please note that, pursuant to our Diocesan guidelines, those attending worship at this time commit themselves to the following norms for the foreseeable future:

  • If you have any symptoms associated with COVID-19, you will not attend in-person worship.
  • If you develop symptoms or are diagnosed after a liturgy, you will report it immediately to the priest.
  • You will not attempt to shake hands or hug anyone, and will do your best to maintain a distance of 6 feet from anyone outside of your family group.
  • You will wash your hands immediately before coming to worship.
  • You will wear a mask at all times while with the worshiping community.

Thank you for helping us worship together as safely as possible!
LIVESTREAM WORSHIP LINKS
A Prayer of Spiritual Communion
from the Armed Forces Prayer Book (1951)
In union, O Lord with the faithful at every altar of Thy Church, where the Holy Eucharist is now being celebrated, I desire to offer Thee praise and thanksgiving. I present to Thee my soul and body with the earnest wish that may always be united to Thee. And since I can not now receive Thee sacramentally, I beseech Thee to come spiritually into my heart. I unite myself to Thee, and embrace Thee with all the affections of my soul. Let nothing ever separate Thee from me. May I live and die in Thy love. Amen.

Requiem Mass for Ed Cahaly | Friday, July 10 | 10 AM
In-Person Participation Limited to Immediate Family
Livestream Available for All Others

An outdoor Requiem Mass, limited to immediate family, will be said for Ed Cahaly at Saint Andrew's on Friday, July 10, at 10 AM, followed by his Committal at our columbarium. Since in-person attendance at the mass is being limited to immediate family, we are also making the mass available to the parish, extended family members, and friends via livestream. You can access the livestream  via our Facebook page  or the  video page on our website  at 10 AM on Friday. ( Please note that this service was originally scheduled for Monday, July 7, at 10 AM but was rescheduled due to the weather forecast. )
New Worship Schedule & Protocol

Since we have recently revised our worship schedule, here is a brief overview of our new schedule and related protocol:

  • All Services - Face Masks & Six Foot Social Distancing by Household Required (see Covenant for In-Person Worship above for additional details).
  • 8:30 AM Sunday - Morning Prayer (Rite II) - Outside, In-Person Only, No Sign Up Required - This shorter, less formal service takes place outside in front of the columbarium courtyard. You are welcome to bring your own water or coffee to this service. There is currently no limit on the number of people who can attend — so there is no sign up for this service. (We will reevaluate this if we begin to run out of space for the people who attend.)
  • 10:30 AM Sunday - Low Mass (Rite I) - In-Church, In-Person Limited to Ten People, Sign Up Required, Also Live-Streamed - This service continues to be very similar to what we have been doing for the last few months. However, due to increasing concern about the coronavirus in this area, we have eliminated congregational singing. This service is limited to ten people — with approximately six of those spots already allocated (priest, organist, subdeacon, lector, altar guild member, usher). You can sign up for one of the four remaining spots here: standrewsgreenville.org/signup
  • 6:30 PM Wednesday - Healing Mass (Rite II) - In-Church, In-Person Limited to Eight People, Sign Up Required, Also Live-Streamed - This service continues to be very similar to what we have been doing for the last few months, but we are now allowing up to eight people — with three of those spots already allocated (priest, server/lector, altar guild). You can sign up for one of the five remaining spots here: standrewsgreenville.org/signup
Vestry Meeting | Sunday, July 12 |12:30 PM
Via Zoom
Our monthly vestry meeting will take place via Zoom following the 10:30 AM Low Mass. A Zoom link will be sent out to the Vestry.
Pendleton Street Baptist Church Snow Cone Stand
Saturdays in July | 11 AM - 3 PM | Parking Lot by St. Andrew's
The Youth of Pendleton Street Baptist Baptist Church (which owns the parking lot next to Saint Andrew's) are hosting a weekly snow cone sale on Saturdays in July to benefit GPS Youth Outreach on the West End, a community outreach project of their church. They will be setting up in the parking lot beside the church and open from 11 AM to 3 PM each Saturday. More information can be found on the West End Snow Cones website .
Sunday Altar Flower and Presence Candle Dedications
On Sundays, we have the opportunity to offer a special dedication of the altar flowers or presence candle in honor, memory, or celebration of loved ones. The cost to the church for altar flowers is now $100 per Sunday, so we are suggesting that donations for dedicating altar flowers be in the range of $50 to $100 to help us cover those costs. The suggested donation for a presence candle dedication is $10.

If you would like to sign up for a Sunday, please see the sign up sheet on the bulletin in the Parish Hall or click on the button below. You may place a check in the offering plate with "Altar Flowers" or "Presence Candle" noted in the memo.

During the summer, we will only have Altar Flowers if someone has signed up and paid for the arrangements. As a result, we will need to know by the Tuesday prior to the upcoming Sunday if you would like to sign up.
Service Opportunities
Feed Thy Neighbor
During the COVID-19 pandemic, FTN continues to serve a hot breakfast to those who are the most vulnerable in our community every Saturday of the month. Saint Andrew's parishioners handle the third Saturday of each month, and Christ Church, Saint James, and Saint Peter's handle the other Saturdays--with volunteers from the Roe Cassidy Law Firm serving whenever there is a fifth Saturday in a month. Though it's not the usual hot breakfast under current circumstances, our guests continue to be very appreciative.

If you are interested in ways you can help support this ministry, please contact the office.
United Ministries in Need of Food Donations
United Ministries' Emergency Assistance program is fully operational and focused on helping families keep their homes and putting food on the table. At this moment, they need canned meats, pop-top cans (meats/fruit etc.) and 1 lb. bags of rice .

The pantry is open daily (Monday thru Friday) 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM. If individual church members would like to donate food, it can be dropped off behind the United Ministries administration building at the loading area, located at 606 Pendleton Street, Greenville, SC 29601 . The pantry door will be open and someone will retrieve the food.
