From the Principal

The Lord speaks of peace to his people.

Psalm 85

Hello Everyone,

Lockdown Drill - St. Emily School is committed to providing a safe environment for all students and staff.  As required by the Illinois School Safety Drill Act, schools must conduct a law enforcement lockdown drill in case of an active threat within our building.  With the guidance and presence of the Mt. Prospect Police Department, we will conduct our lockdown drill on Tuesday, October 29 at 10:00 am.

During the drill, no one will be allowed to enter or exit the building. All building occupants participate in the lockdown drills: students, staff, and any visitors who may be in the building at that time.

Prior to the drill, the students are briefed by their teacher in an age-appropriate manner so that they know what to do in the event of a lockdown situation being called. If you would prefer to not have your child participate in the drill, please have them arrive after 10:30 on that date.

Parent Teacher Conferences for grades PreK - 8th are scheduled for Thursday, November 7. Grades PK-5, please sign up with your student’s homeroom teacher. For students in grades 6-8, we kindly request that parents sign up for time slots with the content area teacher for classes where your child may not be performing well or where you have specific concerns. This focused approach will help us address individual challenges and work collaboratively to support your child’s academic success. Please look for an email with the sign-up link in the coming days and choose a time that works for you. Please allow one time space in between your conference times if you have children in different wings. This will allow you to arrive at you next conference time without delaying the time frame that we need to adhere to. We appreciate your partnership and commitment to your child's education.

Construction Update - Here are the tentative dates from the Village for work on Central Road.

Tuesday Oct. 22 – Prime coat placed on roadway (this still has not happened)

Thursday Oct. 24 – First layer of new pavement placed

Thank you for your patience. When the road is finished we will return to our regular drop off procedures.

St. Emily School Golf Outing?

Are you a golfer?  Would you like to participate in a golf outing for St. Emily School?  We are tentatively planning an outing for either next summer or early fall.  Please complete this survey.  We’re just trying to get an idea if people would even be interested in an event like this or would like to help with the planning.

Have a great week!

Ms. Booth
