From the Principal

The Lord has done great things for us; we are filled with joy.

Psalms 126

Hello Everyone,

What a wonderful week we are having as we celebrate Red Ribbon Week!  While the main purpose is a week-long awareness campaign that promotes a drug-free lifestyle, we have added some fun activities, as well as a prayer contest to engage the students.  Special thanks to Student Council for their planning of this week.

Yesterday we conducted our annual lockdown drill with the Mount Prospect Police and Fire Departments.  I am very proud of how our students behaved during the drill. They listened to directions and the drill was conducted in a calm and orderly fashion. Our students and staff did an awesome job.

Many thanks to FSA for an outstanding Trunk or Treat event this past Sunday.  What an excellent turnout for some great family fun.  Also a BIG thank you for the delicious staff luncheon last week.

Thanks to a very generous family, “Family Shirts” were given to each student and staff member this week.  All students may wear this shirt every Friday (unless we are attending mass) instead of their uniform shirt.

Halloween Parade - On Oct. 31, students may wear costumes to “scare away drugs” on our final day of celebrating Red Ribbon Week.  No blood, scary masks, or weapons allowed.  The students will participate in a costume parade as part of our party celebrations.  Parents are welcome to attend.  The parade is set to begin at 2:15. A big THANK YOU to all our parents who have volunteered to run the classroom parties on Tuesday.

Don’t forget! Students will be attending mass this Friday, Nov. 1 for All Saints Day.  Students are invited to DRESS AS THEIR FAVORITE SAINT on that day.  All students who come dressed as saints, will participate in a procession at the beginning of mass.

Have a wonderful week!

Ms. Booth
