From the Principal

Remember us, O Lord, as you favor your people.

Psalm 106

Hello Everyone!  Happy First Day of School!

What a wonderful first day of school we’ve had!  It was great to see the excitement as the students returned to school and to witness the “first day of school” traditions that happened both in front of the school and the back parking lot.  It was also a pleasure to welcome the new students who have joined us this year.

Many thanks to FSA for hosting such a wonderful Back To School Bash Monday evening!  What a pleasure to see so many of our families enjoying just being back together.

I would also like to thank the following staff for their hard work throughout the summer to make sure that we were ready to open the doors today:  Mr. Rick, Mrs. Mullins, Mrs. Geiger, Mrs. Bruno and Mr. Louie Caldrone.  Special thanks to the teachers and staff who returned in August, spending many hours getting rooms ready to welcome the students.

We are very fortunate this year to have Dr. Angie Karamitos join our Student Support Services Team.  Please read her letter of introduction.

Arrival and Dismissal Today - Thanks for your cooperation in the back lot at dismissal.  Today’s dismissal went pretty well considering this was our first day back.  There will be fewer cars tomorrow as after care will begin.

Just a few reminders regarding dismissal:

  • Vehicles will leave when they are given the signal through the east back parking lot gates.  Please don’t cut the line as that puts others at risk.  It is also a hazard to back out of the parking lot.
  • Parents may not park on the side streets as this sets up a potentially dangerous situation for walkers and drivers. All cars must leave the parking lot as directed for the safety of the aftercare students. If you wish to play at the west side playground, pull around and park in the front lot.
  • The process usually takes about 10 minutes to have all the cars exit the parking lot once people are in their cars.

Everyone’s cooperation is much appreciated as we try to keep everyone safe.

Have a wonderful week!

Ms. Booth
