From the Principal

Here I am, Lord; I come to do your will.

Psalm 40

Hello Everyone!

What a wonderful week we are having as we celebrate Red Ribbon Week!  While the main purpose is a week-long awareness campaign that promotes a drug-free lifestyle, we have added some fun activities, as well as a prayer contest to engage the students.  Special thanks to Student Council for their planning of this week.

Many thanks to St. Emily parishioners, Doss and Suriyakala Samikkannu for their very generous donation of new lunchroom tables.  Sullivan Hall has a brand new look and the students are enjoying their lunch at the new tables.

Thank you also to the Mount Prospect firefighters who came during their off duty hours to carry the tables down into the lunchroom.

Thank you FSA for a delicious lunch last Thursday. What a special treat for our school staff from an extra special group.

Lockdown Drill - Just a reminder that Thursday at 10:00 am. we will  conduct our lockdown drill with the guidance and presence of Mt. Prospect Police Department.  During the drill, no one will be allowed to enter or exit the building. All building occupants participate in the lockdown drills.

Halloween Parade - On Oct. 31, students may wear costumes to “scare away drugs” on our final day of celebrating Red Ribbon Week.  No blood, scary masks, or weapons allowed.  The students will participate in a costume parade as part of our party celebrations.  Parents are welcome to attend.  The parade is set to begin at 2:15. A big THANK YOU to all our parents who have volunteered to run the classroom parties on Tuesday.

Don’t forget! Students will be attending mass on Wednesday, Nov. 1 for All Saints Day instead of on Tuesday next week.  Students are invited to DRESS AS THEIR FAVORITE SAINT on that day.  All students who come dressed as saints, will participate in a procession at the beginning of mass.

Have a wonderful week!

Ms. Booth
