OVERVIEW OF POSITION SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for daily operation and financial management of the center licensed for 71 children.

• Recruit new staff members and provide an orientation.

• Be familiar with Maryland licensing paperwork requirements.

• Maintain licensing requirements and guidelines at all times. Oversee MSDE Accreditation and Maryland EXCELS renewal processes, including monitoring adherence to program standards and practices.

• Develop schedules for staff members.

• Audit and update personnel and child files. Conduct formal and informal observations to evaluate teaching staff; provide counseling through immediate feedback and annual performance evaluations.

• Administer parent surveys bi-annually; review feedback and set center-wide goals; assess progress at 6-month and 12-month marks.

• Review and edit staff and parent handbooks at least annually.

• Manage training requirements for staff members.

• Conduct center tours and provide program information to prospective clients.

• Substitute in classrooms as needed. Must have computer knowledge and excellent communication skills.
