Y's Men Annual Hot Dog Festival Set for Tuesday, July 23

Every Tuesday evening throughout the summer Y's Men and their spouses and guests gather at Compo Beach South for a picnic beginning about 4:30 to 5:00 pm. They bring their own food and beverages.

On Tuesday, July 23, however, the food will be provided free of charge. The main attraction will be hot dogs in a festival to raise money for Newman's Hole in the Wall Gang.

Details about the event will be announced in the near future.

Sunset Cocktail Cruise Almost Sold Out;

Three Places Available

Another Y's Men sailing has been scheduled for Wednesday, July 17 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm aboard the SoundWaters, an 80-foot tall three-masted ship styled after a 19th century Chesapeake Bay schooner. It's steel-hulled, U.S. Coast Guard-certified, and carries up to 40 passengers (the limit on the number of Y's Men and guests who may attend). The decks are wide and comfortable, and there's plenty of bench seating.

The cost of the cruise is $75.00 per person and includes beer, wine, water and "lite bite" appetizers (not dinner). Guests may bring their own food and beverages but no glassware. The ship leaves from Stamford Harbor (details will be provided to those who sign up).

According to Dewey Loselle, the event organizer, this is a "great event for new members. It's almost sold out with three places remaining. Let us know right away if you would like to come aboard. First come, first served!"

Mail a check, payable to "Y's Men Westport Weston," to: Y’s Men of Westport/Weston, P.O. Box 167, Westport, CT 06881-0167.

Letter Received from Consumer Reports Following Tour

Y's Men recently received a gracious and complimentary letter from Olivier Szlos, Director, Major Gifts and Planned Giving of Consumer Reports.  We are looking forward to welcoming Ellen Kunes, Editorial Director of Consumer Reports to be a Y's Men Speaker sometime in either October or November of this year.

We are also discussing another possible Tour date for those members who were unable to attend the June 5 Tour or the earlier Automobile Testing Center Tour.
