Put Your Partner in the Y’s Men Loop!
Add Them to Our Newsletter Email List
We all know the truth but sometimes don’t like to admit it. Our partner (wife, friend, co-habitant, personal assistant, nurse, etc.) is in charge of our social schedule.
And it has always been so. “Our Town” writer Thornton Wilder said so in his Newport book, “Theophilus North” set in 1923: The men run the clubs and the major do-good organizations. The women run the houses and the social schedule (to paraphrase).
So after years of listening to a miffed “You didn’t tell me about that,” here’s your easy way out from under. Be the hero by sharing! Keep your partner informed about all our fun by sending us a second email address for our newsletter distribution.
You know the old expression: “Happy wife, happy life.”
Take 30 seconds now to add a second email - it's that easy!
Do it now since you know you’ll forget about it later. No more missed opportunities. Now more big events selling out before you can agree to order.
Click on the button below to add your partner’s email to our newsletter distribution list. And be prepared to see a smile!

Time is Now to Get Your Flu and Covid Shots
Remember Covid? How easily we forget. But just three years ago we were hunkered down in our homes, nervous when someone came to the door with grocery or food deliveries: “Just leave it on the ground,” we said.
It’s still here. Just a month ago, we had a spike in CT, and this writer had three friends come down with the disease. They’ve all recovered.
Happily the big pharmas cook up new batches of vaccine every year to protect us from the new viral strains. Just as they have been doing every year for the seasonal flu. But the vaccine you got last year does you no good this year.
The CDC says both diseases are major killers: Covid, still third after heart disease and cancer; flu is fifth.
Now is the time to get both shots at the same time, perfectly safe for most but check with your provider.
You’re doing this not just for yourself but for every loved one and friend you come in contact with. Nearly all the chain and independent drugstores offer both vaccines, perhaps your own doctor, too.
Medicare absorbs all the costs for just about everybody covered but check to avoid a surprise medical bill.
Get vaccinated. . .stay well.

Y's Man Steve Taranko Helps Bring
Ukraine Art Exhibit to Senior Center
| |
|
Ukraine Art Exhibit at the Westport Center for Senior Activities.
The new Ukraine Art Exhibit at the Westport Center for Senior Activities features the unique War Stamps designs of Ukraine and other artifacts. Y's Man Stephan Taranko helped bring the exhibit to the Center. It is located in a display case halfway down the main aisle, and will be in place until the end of September.
In addition, Steve, along with Ross Voytovych and Mark Yurkiw, has spent nearly three years sending humanitarian aid to Ukraine through the generosity of the people of Fairfield County. The exhibit features the now world-famous stamp designs that have also helped Ukraine fund its war expenditures. They hope to continue to send medical equipment, and other needed supplies to Ukraine. The exhibit further explains their humanitarian efforts.
