BOARD TO HEAR RECOMMENDATIONS FROM BOUNDARY COMMITTEE FOR 2018-19 CHANGES
At the Tuesday, Dec. 5 Board of Trustees meeting, the Board will hear the recommendations on new boundaries for elementary and middle school students across Dublin Unified, the result of months-long work by the Boundaries Committee.
The Committee has been working since July on the following tasks:
- Establishment of boundaries for K-8 Cottonwood Creek School, scheduled to open in the Fall of 2018
- A review and potential adjustment of the established boundaries for Fallon and Wells Middle Schools
- A review and potential adjustment of the established boundaries for existing west and east elementary schools
The Committee worked with District staff and our demographers to create multiple scenarios for consideration. Two Community Input meetings were held to examine potential scenarios, input was taken from the community at the meetings as well as in online feedback forms, and the Committee made adjustments to the Boundary scenarios, based on the feedback. In addition, District leadership analyzed the scenarios and also provided feedback that was incorporated into the final recommendations.
The final Boundary scenarios/recommendations to be presented to the Board by staff and members of the Boundary Committee are here:
The Board is expected to approve boundaries that will go into effect
at the start of the 2018-19 school year.
The Board agenda, which will be posted by Saturday at 5:30 p.m., will include a Power Point presentation to be made by staff to the Board and that can be found on our website under the "Board of Trustees" tab.
Public comment will be taken at the meeting for those who wish to address the Board. The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. in the District Board Room.
