Important Notes about Opening Day, Aug. 19

Arrival: Juniors and Seniors report at 9 a.m.; Freshmen and Sophomores report at 8 a.m.

Dismissal: Dismissal is at 1:30 p.m.

If students have sports practice later in the afternoon, they can stay at the school if needed. Personnel will be on site.

Lunch will be served

Homeroom assignments will be posted in the main lobby hallway; students will arrive and report to homeroom. Schedules will be distributed in homeroom. Students will begin following them on day two.

Opening day is also picture day!

Be on the lookout for an order form in the mail, or you will be able to order online after pictures are taken.

If your student needs to update his/her schedule, they'll need to make an appointment with our academic advisor, Keely Calvert.

Locker Decorating, Aug. 12, 5:30-6:30

Help your student get a great start to the school year by decorating his/her locker! Your student is welcome to join in the fun and help create their own personalized "home base" at NC. Our lockers are standard size, so items marketed for lockers will fit.

Locker assignments will be posted in the school lobby.

After the decorating, be sure to stop by the gym at 6:30 to meet our fall athletes during Meet the Team!

Uniform-approved full zip

track jackets now available!

We're taking orders for our uniform-approved full-zip track jacket through Aug. 21.

Jackets are $45 and will arrive in early September.

Vaccination Records

These need to be on file for every student. You can drop it off in the school office, mail it or email it to cwing@newarkcatholic.org.

Medication Administration Record (if applicable)

Also, if applicable, be sure to print, fill out and bring to the school a Medication Administration Record (MAR). This informs the school of prescription medications your student takes (includes Asthma Inhaler and Epinephrine Autoinjector use).

Graphing Calculator

All students in grades 9-12 are required to have a TI 84 Plus graphing calculator (Texas Instruments). They are often on sale throughout the summer months at stores such as Staples and Wal Mart, so grab one and take advantage of the sale if you do not yet own one.

Summer Reading Assignment

NCHS students in grades 9-11 are expected to complete a summer reading assignment by the beginning of the 2026-2027 school year. You can access information for your student's grade level/class at this link.

Sophomores and juniors should join the respective google classroom. Codes can be found in the documents available through the link above.

Should incoming freshmen families prefer a paper copy of the assignment, they can pick up a packet in the school office.

Freshmen can direct questions to Miss Bogner (lbogner@newarkcatholic.org), and sophomores/juniors can direct questions to Mr. Ernest (ternest@newarkcatholic.org). Both will periodically check email throughout the summer.
