Within the next few days, we'll have direction from the Governor and our local County Commission that will guide our next phase and eventual reopening. I am anxious and cautiously optimistic about the rebound based on the support we've already seen throughout the community.

The arts have been such a major component of our world's response to this crisis. As we remember what life in quarantine was like, I am hopeful we will remember the Italians singing from the balcony windows, the kids drawings with messages of hope, making music with pots and pans, and the doctors and nurses keeping their spirits up through song and dance.

For the next 10 days (April 27th through May 6th), Amazon Prime is streaming 39 films, documentaries, and episodic pilots originally set to debut at SXSW. The event is being presented ahead of the usual Prime Video paywall, which means all that’s need to watch is a free Amazon account.

Throughout the week-plus event, Amazon will also host online panels and Q&As with some of the filmmakers behind the projects. Of the selections available, five received awards or recognition from the  SXSW Grand Jury .

Florida Music Tours is a educational, travel and media initiative from the Florida Department of State that spotlights Florida’s important role in American musical history and promotes the state as a top destination for music enthusiasts. Florida Music Tours span from the early days of the Delta Blues in the Panhandle, to the cherished folk and bluegrass of the north-central Suwannee heartland, and down into the lively Latin-Caribbean styles of central and south Florida.
