Wake Forest Center for Active Aging

August 27, 2025

Welcome

Pumpkin Spice Lattes aren’t the only excitement this week. Check out some of our new fall programs.

HVAC Update

The HVAC system is still being repaired and, while it makes certain areas warmer than usual, we’ve been told the part should arrive in the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, please use the Center at your comfort level. We’re keeping the doors open because we want to be here for you if you want to be here. Thank you for your patience and grace while we wait.

You’ll start seeing updates about the HVAC and anything else that might affect operations or programs in our Wednesday Wink. That way, you always have the latest news right at your fingertips. And if you ever hear something that feels unclear, just call me directly — I’m always happy to talk with you.

Using props like blankets and bolsters, we settle into comfortable, floor-based poses held for several minutes to ease tension, encourage flexibility, and soothe the nervous system. Each pose is followed by moments of quiet and guided awareness. The practice ends with a longer guided meditation to help you fully unwind and feel restored from the inside out.

Participants must be able to get down to and up from the floor. Low intensity, fully supported. No prior experience needed.
