World Elder Abuse Awareness Day

The WFCAA will host a a special event to commemorate World Elder Abuse Day on Friday, June 13. The event schedule is provided below:
- 9 a.m. - Registration opens
- 9:30 a.m. - Welcome
- 10 a.m. - Walk (0.25 mile)
- 10:45 a.m. - Information Fair & Refreshments.

Flag Day Ceremony
Saturday, June 14 | 9:30 am
Prior to the start of the Triangle Crokinole Club Flag Day Tournament, the WFCAA will host a special Flag Day Ceremony at 9:30 a.m.
Free and open to all community members, the event will include a ceremonial flag-raising by the Wake Forest Fire Department Honor Guard, the singing of the National Anthem by Steven Pfanenstiel, the recital of the Pledge of Allegiance, a bagpipe performance, and remarks by Jennie Griggs on the history and meaning of Flag Day.

Social Media Basics

You're invited to join Natasha Gilliam for Social Media Basics. Natasha is a doctoral student at Liberty University. As part of her commitment to serving the community, she is excited to offer a class tailored for older adults, focusing on the basics of social media - with a particular focus on Facebook.
In this class, you’ll learn how to set up and navigate Facebook to connect with friends and stay informed with updates from WFCAA. The class will also cover essential tips for using social media safely and understanding the potential risks involved.

In this empowering class, you’ll discover natural, effective strategies to feel better without harsh medications. We’ll cover healthy food swaps that reduce inflammation, essential oils that soothe pain, and smart supplementation to support joint, muscle, and nerve health.
