At The Colonial Heights Chamber, we’re always looking for innovative ways to grow our members’ businesses and build community. To that end, we’re excited to introduce the The Tri-Cities Shop Small Buy Local E-Gift Cards! Consumers can purchase the Card as gifts or for self-use, and companies can use it for employee rewards, anniversary gifts, customer appreciation, survey incentives, contests and anything they might have used a gift card for – but the dollars stay local and benefit our shops and restaurants and our Community.
People will purchase the Cards online and email, text or print them for use in your shops and restaurants. To accept the Cards you need to be able to process a key-entry (like a phone order) Mastercard, and you are paid through your credit card bank in your normal settlement, with your normal Mastercard CNP processing fee. The Cards only work at participating merchants, i.e. those who opt-in.
There is a $10.50 a month fee to you to participate in the program. To participate you call John and You will be sent a card you simply run a 10 cent charge (or whatever is your minimum) on a prepaid Mastercard from Yiftee, our technology partner will send you by email or text (the “Activation Card”).
Please reply ASAP if you are interested in being able to accept these Cards and the additional business they bring to your store. We are planning to launch card sales on October 1 and merchants who are signed up will be featured.

For potential corporate buyers
I’m delighted to pre-announce to you that we will be rolling out a new program before this holiday season called Backing the Shop Local Campaign. It is an eGift Card that can be used wherever you might use a gift card, but instead of national brands, it works in our local shops and restaurants in the area. You use it for formal or informal programs like employee rewards, anniversary gifts, contests, survey incentives, customer appreciation, marketing programs, etc. This way your funds have a double benefit – for the recipient and for the community!

We would love to include the name of your company as a community-minded supporter of local business in our launch. Please get back to me ASAP to be included in the launch.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and current guidelines, we regret to announce that the 2020 City of Colonial Heights Christmas Parade has been cancelled. The nighttime event has been held annually for 67 years and evokes fond memories for many long-time residents of Colonial Heights and neighboring communities. The Colonial Heights Christmas Parade typically draws thousands of people and the safety of our staff, volunteers, parade participants, and spectators is first and foremost.

Rent-E-Quip is central Virginia's premier wedding, party, and special event rental company. From the essentials to the exotic "If we don't have it, You don't need"

 Organic Marketing

Hey friends! This is David Darby from Rent-E-Quip and I was hoping I could ask a quick favor of you today. As with many businesses in the hospitality and event industry this virus has hit us hard. Thankfully we are diversified with the general tool and construction side and are getting by, in fact we are looking forward to hiring back many of our furloughed employees in preparation for fall. In the meantime however marketing budgets have been cut to save costs. One of the biggest advantages we have is our organic and free word of mouth traffic as generated by local awards and review platforms such as Google. If it is not too much trouble we would be in your debt if you could help us spread the word of our services until we are able to party together again this fall. Thank you!
Richmond Bride's A-List

Each year Richmond Bride offers a chance to win a $800 stay at National Harbor in exchange for participating in their survey.

We are thankful to have placed in the top 3 of our respective categories for the past 5 years and would love to keep that trend going.
This year we are eligible for...

61. Best Audiovisual Provider
64. Best Service Provider for Small or Backyard Weddings
67. Event Lighting
71. Tent Rentals
72. Furniture Rentals
73. Linen Rentals
85. LGBTQ-friendly Vendor

Visit this link to cast your vote. In total it should take less than 5 minutes! (15 categories minimum)

Virginia's Most Reviewed Rental Company

We are blown away by your support on the most popular platforms such as Google and Facebook. We would also love to fill out our profiles on some of the smaller service discovery pages such as Richmond Weddings, WeddingWire, The Knot, and Yelp. Being a local business a majority of our business comes from word of mouth traffic and getting our name out there on these platforms will help us continue to grow and better serve our community.

Oh, and did we mention you will get 5% off your next rental for each review?

(Discounts do not stack with anything other than our 3% back customer rewards program)
(Yelp does not qualify, they don't like promotions)

December 8 – How to Create a Customer Surprise Culture in a Small Business

Join Vince Magnini as he offers some practical ways to create a culture in a small business in which a continuous stream of customer surprise ideas can be generated and implemented. Customers often enter service transactions with predetermined ‘mental scripts’ regarding how they predict the transactions will unfold and are not paying close attention. In order to gain their full attention, firms must find ways to surprise consumers; that is, firms must spawn script deviations for them. Research indicates that these script deviations can cement consumer loyalty.
