Greetings!
Keeping children safe is something we are committed to at Wee Watch. As you know our Home Visitors visit each Provider monthly to ensure their homes are meeting and exceeding Government Standards for safety. With November being National Child Safety and Prevention month, we thought we would gather some articles to assist you in ensuring the safety of your homes. Safe Kids International believes as we do, that there are 3 keys to keeping children safe in all environments – education, supervision and prevention. We hope you find these articles helpful in implementing safety practices and conversations in your homes. Open conversations and role modelling is key - talk to them about strangers, toy and internet safety, outdoor and water safety or even make a fire plan as a family. Remember it’s a balance, you want to be factual and planful without scaring them about all the potential dangers out there. The goal is really to have our children enjoy the freedom that comes from being active, healthy and safe at home or in care.
We would also like to take this opportunity to wish
you and your families a
restful and wonderful holiday season, no matter how you celebrate!
