Hey Cornholers!

I hope this warm weather has put you in the throwing mood. Because our cornhole league starts TOMORROW!

Week 1 is always a bit chaotic so we always suggest to arrive early. We start games at 7pm sharp at Great South Bay brewery. So feel free to come early to check in, grab a drink and warm up. We will be set up in the warehouse space (right behind the clear garage doors next to the tasting room).

Before we start the games tomorrow, I will do a quick demo and go over all of the rules. But to recap the main points and some FAQs mixed in for all the rookies out there:

  • You will get 4 bags per round to toss and accumulate as many points as possible (on the board is 1 point; in the hole is 3 points).
  • You and your opponent will alternate throwing. The person who throws first is the team which scored on the last round.
  • Scoring is considered 'Net Scoring' per round. After you and your opponent throw each of your 4 bags, you count the total points each team has. The number that is added to the score board is the net points. For example, if Team A gets one bag in the hole and none on the board they will have a round score of 3. If team B gets no bags in the hole and one bag on the board they will have a round score of 1. The number added to the scoreboard would be 2 points to Team A since they had a net of 2 more points than Team B.
  • First team to 21 points wins. There is no penalty for going over 21 points so aim for the hole every time!
  • Bags will be provided for you but feel free to bring your own if you have and prefer those.
  • You will play 4 games each night with a new opponent each game.

Our schedule and scoring will be done using the Scoreholio app. It is strongly recommended that you download the free app so you can follow the schedule and get notifications when it's your turn to throw.

Each week we will also be playing a bar game! Each week, we will have a Bar Champ section to give highlights of our weekly bar games

Catch ya on the Boards,

Matt
