UNLV and the 83rd Legislative Session

WEEK ONE UPDATE

The 83rd Session of the Nevada Legislature kicked off on Monday, February 3rd, with the introduction of more than 500 bills for consideration this Session. Other areas of focus this week included the Governor’s amended budget, as well as possible impacts related to federal appropriations.

The Office of Government and Community Engagement looks forward to partnering with many of you in an effort to advocate for legislation important to UNLV, and to ensure our resources and participation are leveraged for the benefit of all Nevadans during this year's Session.

Please remember, the Office provides Rebel Advocacy Training to assist the campus community with their efforts to engage with the Legislative Session. There is still time to register for one of the two remaining trainings offered this year, February 12th and February 20th. UNLV students, staff, and faculty can learn more and register here.
