Activities:

  • Do you have pets at home? Make sure you have a small sign posted on your front door of how many animals you have! If there is an emergency, first responders can know!
  • Make your own dog treats. Share with a neighbor too! Check out this site for lots of different recipes: https://www.cesarsway.com/recipe-ideas-for-quick-and-healthy-homemade-dog-treats/ 
  • Can you name three endangered species? Do some research and learn about what makes them endangered. 
  • Learn all about sea turtles with this national geographic kids videos! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSPppmnTrWE 
  • What’s your favorite animal? Draw a picture of your favorite animal and share it with us! Be sure to include what your animal eats and where it lives!

  • (1) Do one of the following: (A)If you have a pet, make a list of tasks that you did to take care of the pet for two weeks. (B)If you do not have a pet, research one that you would like to have and prepare a report about the care it needs.
  • (2)Complete one of the following: (A) Make a poster or a PowerPoint presentation about your pet or a pet you would like to have. Share the poster or presentation with your family. (B) Make a poster or PowerPoint presentation explaining three ways that animals can help people. Share the poster or presentation your family.
  • (3) Learn about careers that involve the care of animals. What education, training, and experience are required?

Webelos Into The Wild
  • Requirement: 1. Collect and care for an "insect, amphibian, or reptile zoo." You might have crickets, ants, grasshoppers, a lizard, or a toad (but be careful not to collect or move endangered species protected by federal or state law). Study them for a while and then let them go. Share your experience with your Webelos den.
