Week 11 legislative update: annexation bill clears senate committee, budget bills continue to move | |
It is week 11 of the 2024 General Assembly regular session, and there are only a handful of legislative days left in this 60-day session.
As lawmakers draw closer to the veto recess set to begin March 29, they also have revised the calendar for this session.

Senate makes its mark on state budget | |
This week the Senate approved its version of HB 6, the proposed executive branch budget, and HB 1, a one-time investments bill.
Both bills also passed the Senate floor Wednesday and will likely go to a conference committee where the House and Senate will negotiate the differences and produce a final budget to send to Gov. Andy Beshear prior to the veto period beginning March 29.

WRAP VR System - Train the Trainer courses this month | |
A new virtual reality training system called the WRAP VR system is available for sheriffs and jailers from the Kentucky Association of Counties. Any department requesting to use the WRAP system must send at least one trainer to a mandatory training class at KACo.
