WEEK FIFTEEN UPDATE


The fifteenth week of the 82nd Session of the Nevada Legislature ended with 17 days left in the session. Dr. Marta Meana (Former UNLV President and Special Advisor to President Keith Whitfield), Dr. Constance Brooks (Interim VP of Government & Community Engagement), Warren Cobb (UNLV Associate Dean of Fine Arts), and Corbin Lopez (recent UNLV graduate) testified in support of SB496 (Revises provisions relating to the film industry)



UNLV Dean Marc Kahn (Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine) co presented bill SB146 (Revises provisions relating to health care and access for physicians).

Dr. Constance Brooks (Interim VP of Government & Community Engagement) and Dr. Marc Kahn (Dean of the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine & VP for Health Affairs) testified in support for SB457 (Makes an appropriation to the Office of Finance in the Office of the Governor for certain costs related to the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine, and interdisciplinary opportunities for health students

Dr. Sara Hunt (UNLV Assistant Dean of Behavioral Health Sciences with the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine ,Dr. Marc Kahn (UNLV Dean of the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine and VP for Health Affairs) and UNLV testified in support of AB37 (Authorizes the establishment of the Behavioral Health Workforce Development Center of Nevada).


Dr. Constance Brooks (UNLV Interim VP for Government and Community Engagement) testified on AB490 (Authorizes the establishment of academic medical districts).
