Hi there!

Welcome to Week 16 of your Summer Share. Below you'll find the bag contents for this week, for both the Large and Small shares, as well as the Small Vegetarian Share.

This week, each bag will have six pears, some sweet corn, red peppers, spaghetti squash, carrots, an onion and some eggplant. The Omnivore Shares will get a pound of ground beef and the Vegetarian Shares will get some cherry tomatoes and cauliflower.

The Large Shares will get the cauliflower as well as some Heirloom and Roma tomatoes and a head of lettuce. You'll also have a pack of Ohio City Provisions' Grass-fed Hard Beef Salami.

This is the end of the sweet corn season, and it is very difficult to protect these last ears from critters when we raise them GMO-free & organically (read " The Unavoidable Surprise in Organic Corn-- Worms! ".) In case you see a little worm wiggling, there is almost always only one and it should just be near the very top of the ear. The rest of the corn is totally safe to eat. Just lop off the affected part and enjoy the rest. Sweet corn is one of the items in your bag that you should use first-- the closer to harvest time, the sweeter the taste. Just cut away any extra, ahem, protein you might find.

If you haven't made your September payment yet, now is the time-- please either send those to the barn or bring them when you come to pick up this week. And a reminder, we will have 7 weeks left of the program-- we run all the way up until the end of October.

If you have any questions about the program, please reply to this email or give us a call:  (330) 359 - 2129. It's never too late to join-- tell your friends!
