Rebels & Nevada's 83rd Legislative Session

UNLV 2025 Legislative Priorities

May 30, 2025

WEEK SEVENTEEN UPDATE

Week seventeen in Carson City was the last full week of Nevada’s 83rd Legislative Session. A flurry of work sessions, floor sessions, and impromptu meetings dominated the week, and legislators continue to work around the clock to meet the State’s needs, while keeping in mind budget realities which are very different than at the start of Session.

The Rebel Team continues to meet with legislators and partners to find collaborative solutions which will benefit both higher education and the State of Nevada. We applaud the work of the Legislative Council Bureau and staff who are also working overtime to assist.

Monday is Sine Die, the end of Nevada’s 83rd Legislative Session. We will have further updates for our campus and community early next week.
