WEEK TWO UPDATE
The second week of the 83rd Session included the introduction of numerous bills, and discussions around the Governor's recommended budget for state agencies continued in the money committees before an unexpected snow day, on Thursday, February 13th, led to the closure of the Legislative Building in Carson City. The Assembly adjourned until Monday the 17th, and the Senate adjourned until Tuesday the 18th.
With everything canceled on Thursday, the Legislative Counsel Bureau's (LCB) presentation on the higher education funding formula and the cost-of-living adjustments for the Nevada System of Higher Education had to be rescheduled to Friday, February 14th, in front of the joint meeting of the Assembly Committee on Ways and Means and Senate Committee on Finance Subcommittees on K-12/Higher Education/CIP.
