Week 32: November 29, 2025

How can I make this experience more fun?

,

So... what presentations are you going to this week? Did you join the student consulting / banking / investment management / PE / strategy / corporate finance group? Are you exploring a start-up? Are you prepping for interviews yet?

The desire to figure out your path will grow over the next few months. As we mentioned in Week 5, it helps to go into the recruiting process with a good deal of clarity. While there are several tools that can help you to evaluate choices, we wanted to share one that helps you to evaluate the best choices for you at this time. We believe strongly that pros and cons lists, while instructive, are difficult to analyze and act on.

To try to make things easier, the ProValues tool will help you explore choices. The goal is to provide a framework that helps as you think about the choices you will face in the coming months!

The 100 Week Sprint team

To-do's this week
Got 5 minutes? Think of at least three specific roles you are interested in, and do a quick search on LinkedIn for people with those positions.
Got 30 minutes? Go through the ProValues exercise and evaluate past roles, as well as including future roles you're considering.
Got an hour? Connect with second years who interned in those roles last summer, along with other people in your network who may have experience with those companies.

How does defining my values help me?

We mentioned in Week 28 that it's never too early to prepare for interviews, and with that, now is the time to narrow down what types of opportunities you'd like to pursue! By identifying your values, it can help save you the trouble of pursuing an opportunity that does not match up with your preferences.

ProValues is an interactive tool, providing a framework to help you evaluate choices in your career.

  • Step 1: Identify career values that contribute to workplace satisfaction?
  • Step 2: Assess how past and current roles have fulfilled your values.
  • Step 3: Project how your values will be fulfilled in future roles.

The intent of the exercise is to spark reflection and conversations about future jobs, to better understand what a role entails and in some cases, what it facilitates in your personal life. It can be hard to gauge what a job is like based on job descriptions alone.

How does ProValues work?

Unlike other job evaluation tools that are intended to be a snapshot, this exercise is designed to be a tool you can return to as you uncover new information. This is particularly true as you look to increase your understanding of future roles. The exercise challenges you to update your evaluation of choices over time, since you'll be gaining new information and perspectives. While it requires a fairly thorough undertaking on your part, ultimately, it will serve to help you identify a role which maximizes your satisfaction each step of the way.

Wellness Break - by HumanlyWell

Gratitude is good for our bodies, our minds and our relationships. Neurological research has shown that our behaviors, foods and thoughts all have a direct and quantifiable impact on our brains. Incorporating gratitude into our routine is a behavior proven to enhance overall wellbeing and reduce stress.

Practicing gratitude can increase serotonin and dopamine, the ‘feel-good’ neurotransmitters in our brains, to help combat stress, anxiety and depression. Studies have also shown that those who practice gratitude regularly have increased activity in the hypothalamus, the part of the brain that regulates our sleep, stress levels, and metabolism.

You can start a habit of gratitude by writing down three good things that happen to you each day. It takes less than two minutes each day to realize all the benefits of gratitude!
