Three simple ways to get energy before diving into your 2nd Year!
It's easy to continue your momentum from the summer, and not look back at 1st Year. However, a lot has changed. You likely learned a lot during your internships, built new relationships, and have a clearer sense of your post-MBA goals. While that increased certainty can be comforting, give yourself a chance to breath and reflect on your priorities for the upcoming year. It may help you contemplate options that you didn't know existed!
1. Focus on what's going right: during this time, it can be easy to focus on class selection, recruiting, and managing key relationships. Many of our clients report elevated stress this time of year. But we're pretty convinced that if you stop and think about it for just a few minutes, you can come up with a few things that are definitely going right. Whether it's something as simple as finding a new favorite coffee shop, or as significant as making a real networking breakthrough, stop and reflect on it, allow yourself to feel happy about it!
2. Connect with family and friends: whether it's the people you grew up with, or your adopted school family, make an effort to express your gratitude to the folks who are helping you get through this crazy time. Further, let them know that you not only appreciate their help now, but also look forward to connecting with them more when you have a bit more free time! If your schedule allows, even consider a quick trip!
3. Get some rest: treat yourself to a little rest & relaxation when you can. Resting your body and clearing your mind will allow you to go back to school re-energized and ready to tackle the end of the semester!
