Week 64: August 30, 2025

Helping your resume stand out!

,

Your internship was a whirlwind, between work, building relationships with your team, and learning to navigate new work environments.  Now that it is done, make sure you keep focused on your ongoing mission - continuing to build your profile within your team(s) and/or the industry you're targeting full-time. Updating your resume will make it easier when fall recruiting begins.

To-do's this week

Got 5 minutes? Add your summer internship company and title to your resume and LinkedIn profile.

Got 30 minutes? Reach out to people you worked with over the summer, and ask for endorsements on LinkedIn. Hint: If you offer them first, you are more likely to get them in return!

Got an hour? Go through your resume and identify the bullets/skills that reflect your growth and impact over the summer. Then submit updates to anywhere your resume is stored for access by recruiters.

Make an outstanding resume, starting now

Now that your internship is done, make sure you consider how the experience you gained is going to be worked into your resume.

1. Define the start and finish of your internship project(s): having a defined beginning and end to your project, along with defined goals, allows you to point to specific accomplishments. It will also likely increase job satisfaction. Even if what you are worked on was open-ended, make sure you have concrete responsibilities for your portion of the project.
