Week 69: September 27, 2025

In interviews, practice doesn't make perfect -
it makes you prepared
fallback,

"Do not fool yourself into doing anything other than preparing as hard as you can. You want to leave it all out there on the field."
From Taylor, a very successful MBA student, BCG consultant, and friend of the 100 Week Sprint

As you prepare for interviews, you'll want to give it your best shot and consider as many questions, scenarios, and case studies as possible. That's where practice comes in; the best way to be up for whatever that interview throws your way is to do as many mock interviews as you possibly can. Here are some ways that you can put your best foot forward!

To-do's this week
Got 5 minutes? Make sure you've updated your calendar with all mock interview opportunities.
Got 30 minutes? Brainstorm which fellow classmates or alumni would be willing to help with mock interviews, and reach out asking for time to connect.

Got an hour? Do a 30-minute mock interview on InterviewStream and watch the playback. We think you'll quickly see both what you do well and where you might make some changes.

How to be as prepared as possible

Although it's helpful to prepare for interview scenarios specific to certain industries, it's not enough just to know what kinds of questions and cases you can expect; you need to practice responding to all the hypotheticals that you can imagine coming your way during an interview!

  • Leverage your peers, especially those from industries you're targeting: in addition to the official mock interview options offered by your school's Career Services, make an effort to find additional opportunities to practice your interview skills. Seek out individuals who know your preferred companies especially well - classmates who interned there and alumni who are current employees will be especially helpful.
  • Use InterviewPrep: this tool allows you to record yourself completing practice interviews with a wide variety of industry specializations. Make no mistake, it is very awkward to watch a recording of yourself - but it is also enormously helpful, especially as you return to use this tool over and over! For access to InterviewPrepemail us!
  • Get professional help: if you're ready to dive a little deeper, our team offers mock interviews via Skype and telephone, including in-depth feedback and concrete suggestions for areas where you can make improvements. Email us to set up a one-hour mock interview appointment.
