Here you will find a resource hub for parents and leaders to help support Scouting at home, with stay-at-home educational activities for any Scout rank, tips for continuing to work on advancements and kid-friendly content that connects Scouting with their daily lives. Today is the National Camp-In live on Facebook
Hopefully, you and your family are planning to attend the National Camp-In streaming live on Facebook!
TODAY, May 2, 2020, beginning at 10am CDT. Whether in your backyard or in your living room, join families across the country live on Facebook for a day of fun virtual adventures. This National Camp-In is free and open to all families – including families whose children are not currently in Scouting. So, contact your family and friends and plan to participate. Guests and activities include;

Activities :
Make your own instrument (example, toilet paper roll and dried beans can create maracas!) - Upload a video with your music!

Learn the notes/tones of music (a-g), the building blocks of all music. 
Go outside and gather rocks, leaves, sticks, etc. Create a piece of art on a posterboard using what you’ve gathered!

Draw an animal using shapes (like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BohQzFQqUgE)

Create a self portrait (draw, paint, clay, photography, use what you have!)

Create a comic strip either on pen and paper or through digital illustration.  

Try your hand at sketching your house. Use a pencil, pen or marker.

What’s a song that reminds you of camp? Create a camp playlist and save it for your next campout!

Tigers:
Stories in Shapes (1) explore an art website. (2) Look closely at pictures of some art with a family member. Decide what you like about the art, and share your ideas with the other Tigers. (3) Create a piece of art on paper, poster board, or canvas. (4) Draw or create an art piece using shapes. (5) Use tangrams to create shapes.

Bears
A World of Sound (1) Make a mbria, (2) make a sistrum, (3) make a rain stick.
Webelos: Art Explosion (2)Create two self-portraits using two different techniques, such as drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, and computer illustration. (3) do two of the following: (A) Draw or paint an original picture outdoors, using the art materials of your choice. (B) Use clay to sculpt a simple form. (C) Create an object using clay that can be fired, baked in the oven, or air dried. (D) Create a freestanding sculpture or mobile using wood, metal, paper-mache, or found or recycled objects. (E) Make a display of origami or kirigami projects. (F) Use a computer illustration or painting program to create a work of art. (G) Create an original logo or design. Transfer the design onto a T-shirt, hat, or other object. (H) Using a camera or other electronic device, take at least 10 photos of your family, a pet, or scenery. Use photo-editing software to crop, lighten or darken, and change some of the photos. (I) Create a comic strip with original characters. Include at least four panels to tell a story centered on one of the points of the Scout Law. Characters can be hand-drawn or computer-generated. (4) Create a hard-copy or digital portfolio of your projects. Share it with your family.

Maestro! (2) Do two of the following: (A) Make a musical instrument. Play it for your family. (C) Play two tunes on any band or orchestra instrument. (E) Create original words for a song. (G) Write a song with words and music that expresses your feelings about an issue, a person, something you are learning, a point of the Scout Law, etc. Perform it alone or with your family. (H) Perform a musical number by yourself or in front of your family.

There are many merit badges that inspire scouts to Get Creative! Has your Scout earned one of the merit badges below? Encourage him or her to reach out to a merit badge counselor for one of these and show their creative side!
