Got 5 minutes? Update your LinkedIn profile and resume with your summer experience.
Got 30 minutes? Try on your interview suit, shoes, and accessories and make sure everything looks as it should.
Got an hour? Send emails to your advisory board and get an honest opinion from a friend. Let them know what you did with your summer and what you're recruiting for this fall.
Five ways to prepare for the recruiting onslaught

It's easy to assume that recruiting will be easier this fall. Remember, though, there are steps you can take to make sure you're really ready to dive right into recruiting as soon as you step back on campus. 

1. Contact your advisory board: share your experiences from the summer, and what you are recruiting for now. This is also a good time to reconnect with other people in your network you haven't been in touch with for a while.

While you invest tens of thousands of dollars in your education, it can be tough to spend a single incremental dollar to prepare yourself for your job search. Here are our thoughts on the best places to spend your money as you get ready for recruiting this fall. 

1. Haircuts: every six weeks, whether you think you need it or not. (True story: I once knew someone who almost lost a consulting job until a partner took pity on him and took him aside to suggest he trim his shaggy locks before his final interview; he took the advice, and got the job.)
