PASSING THE BATON

Mrs. Powers passed the baton to Mrs. Bordo who begins her new role as Wexford Campus Principal in June.

“Just as Paul encouraged Timothy to continue the work of the ministry, we encourage Mrs. Bordo in her new role at Eden and we acknowledge Mrs. Powers and the great finish of this season in her life,” remarked Mr. Hughes.

II Timothy 4:5-8

We are grateful for God’s faithful provision for Eden Christian Academy and offer our support and prayers for Mrs. Bordo.
PETER PAN

Congratulations to the cast, crew, set designers, and directors on a fabulous production!

Did you know?
  • Students in grades 7-12 contributed their creative talents in music, dance, sound, lighting, painting, prop and set design to make the musical a grand success.
  • Mrs. Dornsife’s 3D Art Class designed and created the totem pole, Nana’s head, and the crocodile head!

The Upper School musical is designed to encourage student engagement and:
  • promote creativity and problem solving
  • strengthen leadership and communication skills
  • develop team work and discipline
  • build confidence and unity

Mrs. Snavely remarked, “It has been amazing to watch the Peter Pan production develop. It is a joy to work with the students and see them inspire and encourage one another. Being involved in the musical provides them the opportunity to build relationships, learn about themselves, and develop character.

ACHIEVEMENT TESTS
All 7th grade students will have Terra Nova standardized testing throughout the day on Monday, April 29, and Tuesday, April 30 , in the field house. Any sections that are not completed will be finished on the morning of Wednesday, May 1.

Attendance is required for all 7th grade students. Homework will not be given on the nights that precede exams.

Students need to bring two sharpened No. 2 pencils and a basic working calculator on test days (we will have a few extra calculators on hand).

PSAT 8/9 TESTING ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 24
This PSAT testing opportunity is paid for by Eden and all students are required to participate. You do not need to sign-up; all students were pre-registered in English classes the week of April 8 to facilitate an efficient testing morning.

All 8th and 9th grade students should report to the Alpha & Omega classrooms when they arrive on April 24. Student rosters will be posted on each classroom door.

Students must bring two sharpened No. 2 pencils and a basic/scientific working calculator . Testing will end at approximately 11:30 am and students will be dismissed to 2nd period classes.  Test results will be shared with families later this year once they become available to our school.

Helpful reminders for standardized testing days:
  • Be sure to get adequate rest at night.
  • Eat a healthy breakfast.
  • Pack a snack and water for breaks.
  • Bring two sharpened No. 2 pencils and a basic/scientific working calculator.
  • Leave smartwatches and electronics at home!

If a student brings a smartwatch to school on testing days they will be collected and returned to the students at dismissal. Cell phones will be turned off and stored during testing sessions.  If you need to contact your child, please do so through the front office as you would during a normal school day.

If you have any questions about this process please contact me.
