MESSAGE FROM MRS. HYLAND

Dear Berkeley Hills families,

The staff at Eden would like to thank all of you for the wonderful Christmas blessing . We greatly appreciate your generous and thoughtful support and continued commitment to Christian education at Eden Christian Academy.

I pray that you are energized by the start of the new year! As I think about the beginning of 2019, I am reminded of Ephesians 4:22-24 where Paul tells us to put away our old life - our life before we were believers. The start of the new year gives us the opportunity to renew our minds and spirits and to encourage one another to recommit our lives to Christ.

You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. Ephesians 4:22-24 (NIV)

On behalf of the faculty and staff at Eden Christian Academy, we wish every family a healthy and blessed New Year !

Mrs. Hyland

JANUARY EVENTS

6TH GRADE STEPS UP
TO MT. NEBO CAMPUS
On January 25, sixth grade students will have an amazing experience connecting with upper school students and getting a first-hand look at campus life. Parents of sixth grade students; watch for an email with details coming your way the week of January 7!

CREATED IN LOVE on January 25
Fifth grade students will learn God's principles for their bodies, their spirits, and their social interactions with peer groups in separate classes, accompanied by a parent or relative. Permission forms were sent home in Friday Folders. Please contact the office if you did not receive yours.
TOY DRIVE BLESSES CHILDREN
IN OUR COMMUNITY

Partnering with the Ross Township Police Department, the Warrior Leadership Team organized a toy drive to bring Christmas joy to local families in need . The students prayed over the toys before they traveled to the police station to work with officers wrapping and packaging the toys for distribution. Riding with the officers and delivering the toys to families in need in our community had a great impact on the students!

Thank you to Mr. Sullivan for coordinating this service project. And, a big thank you to all of the parents that donated and volunteered!

Experiences like service projects, help students connect with their God-given potential and direction for life. Faith & Learning go hand-in-hand at Eden.

THEY LOVE LEARNING!

PK4 students were excited and thoroughly engaged in a recent hands-on project that began after reading The Ginger Bread Baby by Jan Brett.

Integrating STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) initiatives , students worked together to create a plan, build a ginger bread trap, and go on a class adventure through the hallways to discover that their trap was a success and the Gingerbread Baby left them cookies!

Expanded STEAM initiatives are the focus of Eden’s year-end giving appeal and 35th Anniversary Campaign. For more information, contact Summer Dean at sdean@edenca.org .
