Feelings Wheel
I've been reading a lot about helping your children feel and understand their emotions. It can be hard to put your finger on exactly how you feel, especially when you are still learning about emotions and what they mean. And that's where the Feelings Wheel can be super helpful! It starts with happy, surprised, scared, mad, disgusted, and sad on the very inside of the wheel. Those are our main emotions. But then, it starts to get more specific: are you scared as in fearful or are you nervous or anxious? Are you anxious because you are worried or do you feel overwhelmed? Are you surprised as in excited or are you surprised by something that's confusing? And on and on it goes. This wheel can help you give your child language around their feelings and help them better understand their emotions. And it can help you better understand what it is that they need. Print out a feelings wheel here, or pick one up from the Resource Wall on the Children's Hall!
