This is the new "electronic" RED BOOK!
Thursday morning Emmanuel received the following email from Pastor Livenson:

Dear Friends and colleagues,

May the peace, the grace and the love of Lord and Savior Jesus Christ be with us all!

It’s been a few years in Haiti the concept “peace” is not a part of our daily living. From famine, to political upheavals and gang related activities, Haiti is living a nightmare. I have reported many times to most of you that the country is not stable. Thus, these realities have intensified so much they the result falls into the unexpected. As most of you heard and saw on the TV, the Haitian president had been assassinated around 1 a.m yesterday. Right now, we are swimming in a profound uncertainty. The country has become a ghost town. Furthermore, there is the battle of the two prime Minister that is another page in our story and we don’t know how this will end.
We, as the Lutheran Church of Haiti, deplore this heinous and despicable act. Being the arms of God acting in this world, we cannot stay inactive. We request your prayers and intercessions in the midst of this Chaos. As the global church, we would like you to stand with us as we seeking peace, love, and forgiveness for a broken nation.

May God intercede for us!!!

+ Rev. Joseph Livenson Lauvanus
Bishop Elizabeth Eaton wrote an article about Stewardship in the June/July Living Lutheran The link to full article is here https://www.livinglutheran.org/2021/06/a-deeply-spiritual-act/

Her closing paragraph says it all:
Stewardship is a deeply spiritual act. It moves us out of ourselves and toward the neighbor in need. It glorifies God. It brings freedom from wealth and status. It unclenches our hands and hearts. It lets us rest in the promise of God’s abundance. We become cheerful givers.

Thank you Christa Sweeney, Chairperson

I don’t know about you, but most of the time, my get "up and go" has got "up and went". Instead of reaching for coffee or a sugary snack, there are better and much healthier options.
  • Fiber helps slow the digestion of energy supplying sugar, and Vitamin C may help to ward off fatigue, so eat strawberries, citrus fruits, and bell peppers.
  • Cottage cheese and yogurt are high in protein which helps prevent a crash by making sure energy sources (glucose), aren’t absorbed too quickly.
  • Nuts and pumpkin seeds contain an energizing combo of magnesium and protein.

I should really practice what I preach!!

Sorry for the Inconvenience!!

Lifetouch has gotten out of the church directory business. This means that our current mobile directory was disabled July 1st. But don't fret!

We have met with Unique Church Solutions by UCD to take directory pictures in October of this year but in the meantime they have agreed to make a mobile directory app available for us without pictures.

We are currently working on moving member information over to them and will let you know when and how it will be available. In the meantime we have printed paper directories for you as of July 1st and you will be able to pick one up in the Narthex this weekend or at the office during the week. Thanks for your patience as we transition to this new mobile directory.
