Introducing...

Please welcome Pastor David Wagner as our Interim Pastor starting this weekend. Pastor Wagner will be here on Saturday evenings and Sunday mornings for worship. He will be with us for a little over a month until our newly called pastor arrives.

Pastor Wagner was born and raised in the mid-west and attended Luther Seminary in St. Paul. He has served churches in Minnesota and in Easter, Pennsylvania as well as here in the Florida Bahama Synod. During his ministries he was the Manager of Chaplains for 12 years for a large Hospice company in New Jersey before retiring to Florida. Most recently he was the called pastor at Our Savior of Nokomis where he served for almost three years before retiring.

He is married and has four children and five grandchildren. Besides his beloved family, Pastor David has always cherished his golden retrievers. He counts as part of his family a two-year old male dog named Zeus and a four-year old girl golden named Lindy.

If you have a pastoral emergency or need, please contact the office and we will forward your needs to Pastor Wagner.

This and That for the Week...Important Information Follows

Volunteer and donations needed...

Those who might like to help with Coffee Talk Venice are invited to the train station on Tuesdays and Thursdays 10am-12noon. We have lost the help of our seasonal volunteers and are looking for some new helpers. Our mission is to feed the homeless twice a week.

We are now scheduling two volunteers to provide bag lunches and one to bring a hot dish (20-30 people) for the month of June.

If you are unable to help with serving meals, we are in need of the following items:

  • deodorant
  • clean used bath towels
  • wipes
  • lotion
  • sunblock
  • bug repellent

Please bring donations to the Narthex and place in the bin provided.

Contact Marybeth Runk, Judy Daniels, or Pat Moser if you would like to help serve or perpare food.

Barb's Medical Minute

A study found that people who incorporate unique rituals into everyday activities feel less lonely afterward. Even if they seem silly, like stirring the sugar in your coffee 5 times clockwise, reading a certain section of the newspaper first every day, checking your phone before even getting out of bed, or, not so silly, like evening prayers. So, embrace little rituals.

Then another study found that 3 servings of vegetables and 2 servings of fruit every day is the magical combo for a long life. Wait, A DAY??!! Really, I’m lucky to get that in a week!!
