We are in the process of determining how many giving envelopes to order for 2022. We threw away over 200 boxes this year. If you received envelopes in 2021 but no longer need them (you are giving electronically) please email the office at info@emmanuel-elca.org. We'd like to cut down on how many we have to order and throw away, thus saving money.

Last month we had General Operating donations totaling $74,846, which supports all of our budgeted activities. But your Offerings provide so much more. Every week our congregation makes donations to specific ministries both within our Church and many important ministries which are outside of our Church.

Each month our Outreach Committee designates a local ministry, which you support when you donate to “Local Community Outreach.” Plus many members donate to specific funds or ministries. These non-General Operating donations are entered into our accounting software, where your donations are correctly allocated.

At the beginning of the next month, we send the money collected to the specified “Local Community Outreach.” Synod sponsored ministries such as ELCA World Hunger Fund are sent to the Synod with our monthly tithe. For other funds like the Capital Improvement Fund the money is held until it is needed.

If you have questions about donating or how your allocation is handled please contact the Treasurer.

Barb's Medical Minute
I know that it is supposed to be healthy and will help to lose weight, but I didn’t know that to deter Parkinson’s disease, you should eat a Mediterranean style diet. In a recent study, women who closely followed the leafy greens, poultry and berries diet developed the condition 17.4 years later than ones who didn’t. For men it was 8.4 years later. The Mediterranean style diet has compounds that are linked to reduced disease progression. Good to know!!
Upcoming Events and Opportunities:
Stay after the 8:30 worship or come early to the 10:00 worship as Coffee Fellowship has returned Sundays at the round tables outside the Fellowship Hall.

Early Communion

Pastor Hall will be giving instruction on taking communion. If you have a child you would like to receive communion, please contact the office.
Our homebound members would like to receive communion. Volunteers are needed to help distribute communion to them. Please call the church office if you are interested in bringing communion to these people that are unable to come to church or if more information is needed.
