Come see what's in
a Coffee Talk lunch!
Do you know what Coffee Talk is? We minister to needy people in our community by providing free coffee, food, and fellowship every Tuesday and Thursday at the park near the Venice Train Depot.
On June 25 and 26 in the Narthex, you can see the goodies packed in one of the lunch bags and talk to some of our volunteers. We'd love to chat with you about what we do and how you can help!

In March of this year, the congregation approved a $700,000 Capital Improvements Budget for 2022. We wish to share an update with respect to what has been done so far.
First, with respect to the Air Conditioning project, three of the four new units have been installed and are operational. The fourth unit, which will condition the narthex restrooms, will be installed in coordination with the Roofing project as this unit will be a rooftop unit.
Second, we are most pleased to share that the new roof installation has begun as of June 13th. The sloped roofing areas will be replaced with a metal standing seam roof in the first phase. In the second phase, the flat roof surface will be repaired to provide adequate runoff and be covered with a new TPO membrane.
Third, the Property Committee has been busy with the updating of Rowe Hall. Painting of all the rooms is beginning this week and will be followed by replacement of all of the flooring.
The Property Committee is also finalizing bids for the outside painting of our church after the new roof is complete as well as obtaining bids for the new storage cabinets in the Fellowship Hall.
We remain most grateful for the support of our congregation and will furnish additional updates as we address our entire campus.

Barb's Medical Minute
I will bet (and I love to gamble) that every single person has had issues with constipation at some point in their lives. Also, the older we get, it becomes even more of an issue.

Fiber-rich foods can help relieve constipation. Drinking plenty of water and exercising (seriously, is this the answer to every problem in the world?) can also help. Here is why fiber is important. Foods with a high level of fiber provide the fuel colon cells need to be healthy. Dietary fiber softens and increases the size and weight of your stool, which makes it easier to pass. Men aged 50 or younger need about 38 grams of fiber each day and over 50 they need 30. Women 50 or younger need 25 grams and over 50, need 21 grams per day.

So eat those fruits, vegetables and whole grains to keep everything moving.
