The Call Committee met with the Dean of the Mid-Gulf conference on Monday to obtain feedback on the Ministry Site Profile and receive coaching on the interview process. Final revisions to the Ministry Site Profile were made, and it was officially submitted earlier this week – a real milestone in the call process as now pastoral candidates will be able to see that we are seeking a new pastor.

Contemporary Music Pilot Update

The Worship & Music Committee is happy to report that the 6-month contemporary music pilot, now going into its second month, continues to improve with each passing week. Led by Nick Sperry, the praise band is filling out with the recent addition of a lead guitarist/vocalist and drummer, with more musicians and singers expected to join in the future.

If you haven’t checked it out yet, please consider attending the 10:00 a.m. worship service to experience this joyful, musical service! Also be sure to listen to the JOY FM, 91.5FM, for some of the contemporary Christian music that is being used in this worship.

We are collecting items for VBS 2024 Monumental, and the Youth will begin building sets this weekend. We will be building rock formations and the gorgeous mountains of the Southwest. We appreciate all donations that have been coming in. We are accepting newspaper and white duct tape or white electrical tape for the sets. Our 10am worship team has been praising Him! This weekend we have a special guest from my hometown on Bass. Dan Grover will join us this weekend and will be filling out the band. We hope you can make it this Sunday at 10am!!

Barb's Medical Minute

Do you know what a Flavonoid is and how it can help you? A flavonoid is a naturally occurring compound found in plant foods and they can help support heart health, like blood circulation, and reduce the risk of cancer. One of the top sources of flavonoids is green and black tea. (I’m good with that.) Other foods high in flavonoids are: dark chocolate (only if I’m desperate for chocolate), red grapes (They’re OK, but I rarely eat them), blueberries (Not), apples (I like a little bit of apple with my peanut butter), and citrus fruits (pretty much all good). You know what else I found out? Kale and red wine have the same number of flavonoids….guess which one I pick?

Please keep the following people in your prayers:

Gail Authier

Pam McNamee

Gordon Storey

Flossie Wissinger

Linda Yaro
